"Static Shock" on Disney XD Network

I never cared for Static Shock, was it because I wasn't the target audience? I couldn't stand the soundtrack for the show, like all the hip hop and rap they used during the fight scenes and so forth.
There were no outside soundtracks used. All the music was for the show directly, and a large chunk of it was instrumental with a hiphop beat. Another half wasn't even hiphop.
There was also too much "black people can do anything white people can" vibe in the show, as if they were forcing it down our throats despite the fact that there are a lot of black heroes out there.
I never got that impression, perhaps it's just you being uncomfortable and annoyed with characters that are minority based and have some kind of focus on them. . I never got to truly read the comicbook, but it does go into racism and inner street life and gangs, it also shows Static fighting against such negativity.

It seems like you wanted the show to be about that because you were expecting it, and that just wasn't the point.
It was never "shoved" at viewers, it was just obvious (visually) that SS was black Super Hero.
Cyborg from Teen Titans and Green Lantern say hi.
Static Shock (the animated series) was created before Cyborg and Green Lantern even got a chance to shine as apart of DC's Animated Universe. Static Shock at the time of it's airing was something that was NOT being done. How many black Super Hero's get their own show? Let alone their own screen time?
This is when you think about it, when you don't its not much of an issue.

SS was (no pun intended) was a shock to the system for many who watched it.
How did black people view this show, honestly?
I loved it, and was disappointed that no new season was made. I liked Virgil, he was a smart kid who was willing to learn and he listened to advice and he was a good friend.

I viewed it as a show about a growing Super Hero. I did not view it as "Hey look a black kid doing what a white kid can do! awshume!!"

Why did'nt they make another season?:crying:

Static Shock was canceled by the WB network because the series couldn't secure a toy line. I guess the network didn't want to finance another season of SS if they couldn't get back any money from merchandising.

And how were the Ratings?

I don't know the exact numbers, but I do know that the lack of a toy line was 1 factor that led to Kids' WB's choosing not to renew the series.

The closest thing to a Static Shock action figure that I've ever seen was the Static figurine which came with the SS Subway Kids' Meal.

Bring on the Crossovers!
Back in 2005, CN played all the crossover's in one day.
Hopefully the crossover episodes are aired back to back again.

Yes,awesome

Hello, I am a new member and haven't posted anything, but when i saw this i had to come say "Yess, finally!!":)

Alright, EVERY time that I turn on Static on Disney XD it's the exact same episode every time. I'll see on my program guide that there's a Static episode on and I think to myself "oh good, a chance to watch some Static Shock reruns." But I just end up changing the channel after about 10 seconds cause I notice that it's the exact same episode again! This has to have happened now at least 3 times. I mean I thought that Toon Disney treated Batman:TAS and Superman:TAS bad. But this is just ridiculous.

Well one episode every week day with no episode on Monday and weekedns being the same episodes that aired though the week. That means they only aired four episodes for far. That's why.

That's kind of odd that they've only aired four episodes so far. I know that they wouldn't want to burn through the series so fast, but since the series is done, one would think that they would have a couple more episodes on their schedule.

The same could be said about The Famous Jett Jackson. I keep catching the Father-Son fishing trip.

Maybe they're being cautious because they want some of the shows to last longer. I'd do the same thing if I owned/worked for a TV network.

Their mistake is that if they want to air one episode aday and in order they should not air "Stacks" of Static until they air more episodes. It makes things seem worse then they really are

So far, it's been great getting another chance to see this series. Ihad only seen about 4 or 5 episodes when it was being rerun on CN (only counting the ones I watched from start to finish) and they would be something cheezy like the one with the guest ballplayers. Getting to see some of the early episodes has me seeing the series in a different light.

I'm not even black and I loved this show. Everytime I watch "Spectacular Spider-man" I'm reminded of this show. Now there gonna be on the same network awesome. Its good Disney is airing it again. Since WB is too cheap to air it on CN or Boomerang.

I...watched it...*runs out crying*

I do give the show props for being the only superhero show I know to actually focus on street crime. What were the rougue Bang Babies but superpowered gangbangers? I didn't care much for Gear though...and I didn't get how he just got metahuman powers out of nowhere...I think I missed the episode about how it happened exactly.

Except that excessive repeats defeat the underlined purpose.

Yes the stacks are dumb. They should not air stacks of Static until they at least air the whole first season if they really want to air the show in order and one episode a day.

Basically, Virgil and his clothes were still well-soaked in Quantum Vapors when he went to see Richie right after the Big Bang, and Richie got exposed that way. It was a lesser dose (and second-hand, basically), so it took him longer to develop and he got a more subtle power.

I've been watching the episodes. I can't wait for season two when Ritchie gets supper smarts I liked his character the best :D

Today marks the 25th Year Anniversary of when Pokémon Crystal was released in North America. To this day, the Johto Games remain my favorite games in the Pokémon Franchise.
Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
