My router log showed an few port hits supposably from the worm. There's no chance of the worm getting through.


Did you run the worm removal tool? If not, the worm is probably still there. As soon as the worm is confirmed removed, an offline patching should then be run. Such as Blaster Worm: Critical Security Patch for Windows XP.

I downloaded the patch last night. I also used the Symantec removal, and it got rid of it.

Thats not right at all - IIS is a web server software that runs under Windows NT. It supports Netscape's SSL security protocol and turns an NT-based PC into a Web site. MS Web browser, IE, is also included.

Anyways how did we get on IIS?? Is it because of my typo:

There isnt "NT 5". It iis Win 2K.

If you would have read it u would know its a typo w/ the extra "i".
And there is NOT a Windows NT5. Win2000 is built on NT4 and XP was built on win2k.

Update guys, I want to advise anyone here who uses MSN messanger to not run the program or download it untill this virus is put to rest, as of right now I used Go Back to restore my computer to yesterday, and I'd advise that any one with Netowrk with MSN Messanger unless you have a fire wall to not install this program, at this time My MSN messanger account will be on a rest untill this virus is gone.

Second update, guys the virus program that you need to look out of is Msbllco.exe currently but unoffcial virus of W32.Blaster.D.Worm, the virus that runs under MSN Messanger/.NET services.

I've spent all weekend fighting this evil bug. I think I finally killed it. It was one tough bug to get rid of. This was my first time I have been infected by a virus and it was a learning experience for me. Although, my laptop almost had a collision with a wall. Anyway I'm glad it wasn't one of those nasty virus that wipes out your computer.
