You have to wonder why there wasn't any mention of Cartoon Planet at the Upfront... or was there?

Only ONE other live-action show was announced, and no movie/pilots? Yeah, Level Up got a lot of promotion, but it came out of a division of Cartoon Network studios. If this doesn't prove that Cartoon Network is straying away from live-action gradually, I don't know what does.


Young Justice and Green Lantern are under Returning Series. So does this mean a second season for Gl already and a third for Young Justice? Or is this just because they just now started DC Nation?

So, Thundercats is only going to have 1 season with 26 episodes? I thought that Cartoon Network already ordered up to 52 episodes, but I guess that's not the case.

And what's going to happen with Redakai? Are they just going to keep airing the same episodes over and over again from the first season until their license expires? Wasn't there 52 episodes planned for this show as well?

Both were dependent on toy sales. Ratings for Redakai have been particularly bad but CN gets merch profits so it could go either way. ThunderCats was pretty much doomed from the start and kids didn't get into it. But I wouldn't rule it out just yet. Mystery Inc. and Beyblade were not mentioned on that list either. We know Scooby will be back in May and Beyblade has rather decent ratings and was not mention on the PR for the upfront last year either.

Don't read to much into lack of mention on the PR. The second Nick Upfront this year said absolutely nothing about Ninja Turtles.

But I will not be surprised if ThunderCats ends at 26. Maybe they should revamp it for Adult Swim, clearly only adults were interested.

I'll be really upset if ThunderCats doesn't last and also from what I understand the Nick Cannon show is going to star Jeremy Shada so who knows could be funny. Also does anyone know if there is a chance of CN putting video of Pen Ward playing with the ocrchestra? That'd be rad.

They don't promote a lot of shows that kids still watch. That's not a good enough reason for it to not have done at least a little bit better.

The real problem was it came along when Friday nights became a struggle for Cartoon Network and yet reruns of NinjaGo on Friday that are not advertised got similar if not better ratings than ThunderCats on Fridays. I don't expect good things from the Saturday ratings but we haven't seen them quite yet.

But I'm pretty sure putting ThunderCats between reruns of Ben 10: UA after this week and premieres of Green Lantern are a recipe from disaster. It's just keeping Star Wars's slot warm until Fall. In the meantime the whole Saturday block could be in trouble with the top rated episodes of SpongeBob stomping all over it.

CN programmers aren't high on my list right now. I think legos are a much easier brand to sell to kids.

I don't want to get off-topic, but I might as well ask while it's still relevant. Why exactly do reruns of Spongebob do so well on Saturday mornings? If I remember correctly, even Spongebob hasn't taken some hits in the ratings; with the Saturday airings losing some viewers to Disney. Hopefully Nick's loss can become CN's gain soon.

I'll enjoy the final 6 Problem Solverz when they air, and enjoy it while it lasts. I gave SMFA 1 or 2 chances, I just couldn't handle it.

I wouldn't think Johnny Test would NOT show up, given it being one of their greatest right now. I'd have to wonder what sleeves the CN crew would pull tricks from if they intended on a new cash beef

Why do kids watch SpongeBob on Saturday mornings? Because they're home to watch it I guess. I don't know why it gets it's best ratings all week from Saturday morning reruns but somehow it does.

I am not expecting it, but I would be so plessent surprised if I saw of a new series Digimon Fusion Battles.

While that would be awesome and I would love to see a Digimon series on Cartoon Network, that would require the series to be picked up and dubbed first. I know that there has been a test dub sometime last year, but the last time I checked, there hasn't been any news for an actual dub. I could see them airing a dub of Xros Wars at some point though.

Anyway, the only new shows that I'm interested in watching are Ben 10 Omniverse, Beware the Batman and DreamWorks Dragons: The Series. I'm slightly surprised that Level Up got a second season and I wasn't expecting that Nick Cannon sketch comedy either. I was totally surprised to see Casper's Scare School, Hero 108, Scaredy Squirel and Sidekick are returning. I don't think most of those shows air that often anymore. I wasn't shocked to not see Generator Rex as a returning series. Even without knowing what happened in the last few episodes, there were more signs of its cancellation than a possible return.

I'm happy to see that Pokemon, Young Justice and Green Lantern: The Animated Series are confirmed to return. I'm disappointed that they didn't mention anything about Scooby Doo: Mystery Incorporated when it should have at least one more season. I already wish it could have a third season, if only because I find it the most interesting out of all of the Scooby Doo series, but hopefully the second season at least ties up the storyline and offers a satisfying conclusion. I hope that they pick up Beyblade. While I'm not a huge fan of the series, it's a pretty nice show to watch for the heck of it and from what I understand, it seems to do pretty decently in ratings, so hopefully they'll pick it up.

As for Thundercats, despite my issues with the characters and the pace of the storyline, it would be too bad if it didn't get renewed. It has a lot of potential and even with my problems with how it has been handled, it's still a pretty enjoyable action series. I don't think that it has as much of a chance at this point, but maybe something will change for the series.

The last several Upfronts have been anime-free besides Pokemon and Bakugan (despite Beyblade's presence), so even if CN theoretically picked up a Xros Wars dub, we wouldn't hear it from this.

Anywho, OK i'm glad most of the stuff i'm watching is getting renewed, but aside from Batman and maybe Dragons, the rest of the stuff sounds horrid, another LEGO show!? Really, Nick Cannon sketch comedy? Would'nt that work better on Comedy Central or Nick?

CN had been doing so good since 2010, I hate to think they may be going downhill again so soon. But I digress.
