Funny, I'd say about 80-90% of the people I talk to who have seen the new Thundercats show have praised it. I've also read numerous online reviews where the show has been called one of the best action shows of the past year, so I'm not sure where you're getting the notion that people don't consider the show "good".....

And is have to 100 percently agree with those statements. Id even agree as going as far as sayinh.this was the action show of 2011. The show was great, heres hoping that it gets picke up for another season.

I think the only problem with that is, it seems that to be on Adult Swim's Toonami, you need to at least be rated TV-PG. When they got Thundercats and SB Titan, it was fine because those were already TV-PG. But Megas is TV-Y7-FV, although I suppose that they could just slap on a TV-PG if they wanted to.

I dunno if Megas XLR would fit in with the current version of Toonami (or actually, I dunno, maybe it could), either way I would love to see it back on TV in some capacity.

Also, this past week was my first time watching both Sym-Bionic Titan and Thundercats.
Really enjoyed them both, though I think Sym-Bionic Titan could have benefited from a two-part series premiere because I thought the pacing was a bit odd.
But despite that, I still enjoyed it.

I don't really count anything out when it comes to Toonami to be honest, I mean, I never thought Sym-Bionic Titan and Thundercats would be joining the block and I'm surprised that they went out and got Deadman Wonderland and Casshern Sins for the kick-off. That alone tells me that any program could join this block at anytime and that makes things really exciting for me, now I'm just wondering what will come along and replace Casshern Sins once it's run is over......so many possibilities.

Deadman Wonderland and Casshern Sins seemed to benefit Funimation more than Toonami, so who knows what might come next.

I'd like to see Funi try to sell Michiko to Hatchin to Toonami, they haven't released it yet so it would be a good way to sell the show if they time the DVD/BD release concurrently or during the airings. And it would benefit Toonami too since it's a show that has appeal outside of anime fans (unlike DW and CS).

Imagine a block with both Michiko to Hatchin and Panty and Stocking, if that lineup doesn't have crossover appeal I don't know what else you can put on there. And I'm speaking as someone who's not even a fan of P&SWG. Those are two relatively new licenses that are "hip" and "edgy" enough for AS, has enough common denominator appeal for the unwashed masses, is avant-garde enough for the anime beatniks, and benefits Funi by promoting the DVD/BDs. Everyone's happy!

I believe this aired on March 17, 2007, the night the TOM 4 era began.

Kinda puts the original saturday night Toonami block on Cartoon Network to shame, doesn't it .

I wouldn't be suprised if we don't get any new bumps or videos for the rest of October, but I'm definately sure that they'll make a bunch for a few weeks once the next schedule change occurs for the block in November.

Speaking of which, what's the latest rumors for what's going to replace Casshern Sins? I'm hoping for Inuyasha: The Final Act myself, but we know that some Funimation shows are on their way too. I'd like to hope for something rather new like how Deadman Wonderland was, but since they've spent a lot of money on acquisitions this year already I don't know how feasible that'll be. Wonder if Aniplex will be able to convince them to pick up one of their shows too. Blue Excorcist or Madoka Magica would be nice to see.

So at the FUNimation panel at NYCC, they said that they don't know what will be airing when Casshern Sins ends and they generally only find out what Toonami has picked to air at the last minute. Of course, Lance wasn't at the panel so he might know stuff the other people don't, though it's also possible that when he said he knew what shows were going to air on Toonami, he didn't know in what order they were scheduling them, so it seems we might be in for some surprises.

I don't know how well praised the show overall, but I don't know if it's praised here that much. It isn't terrible by any means, but I don't think I'd consider it one of the best action shows in the past year. It had a lot of potential to be great, but it just felt overall mediocre by the end. The animation and most of the fight scenes were handled pretty well and the voice acting was great though.

That's pretty much how I felt too. Rewatching the premiere has filled me with so much regret for how the show turns out as I REALLY loved the opening episode(s). Titan starts out better than I remember though, so that's nice.

I know what you mean. Despite knowing what happens and thinking about how much potential was lost over the course of the series, I still love the premiere. It just sets up the series' different conflicts and subplots so well and it's still quite engaging. It's such a shame that I don't think that they were able to live up to that potential. There were other episodes past the premiere that were good, but it didn't really change my overall opinion on the series by the end. As for Titan, it did have a pretty good start, although I mixed up another episode later on in the series as the premiere, but it also reminded me that the Earth elements to the series, at least in the later stages, become dull after awhile, especially compared to the conflict back in their world. The artwork and fight scenes are still pretty great though.

ThunderCats has a very promising start and overall a strong first season first 13 episodes besides a few less thrilling episodes but the second batch of 13 making up the first season felt like it wasted a lot of time padding things out and had a few episodes that were just moderately entertaining that feel to me like the equivalent of a filler episode of long running shounen manga adaptation.

Sym-Bionic Titan has a few episodes that don't feel like anything happens but they're pretty interesting most of the time. The episode when Octus is left by himself and the rest of the world is trapped paused in time is actually very entertaining in its' own way. Without a doubt it used it's 20 episodes well. Not every episode is amazing but at the end of those 20 episodes I feel like that show told a compelling story and didn't beat around the bush anywhere near as much as ThunderCats.

Titan IMO is one of the best action cartoons to come out in recent years, possibly only behind Young Justice and mostly because it only got 20 episodes and was not resolved. ThunderCats is pretty solid and when it's good it is great so it's among the best of recent years but Titan is a show I'd also consider among the best action cartoons ever made and ThunderCats 2011 really doesn't feel worthy of that achievement because of all the time it wasted and lack of pay-off on top of that.

However since Toonami can't air Korra, Avengers, Motorcity and the new TMNT and probably only Korra has the mature storytelling to suit the block now they're airing the best recent American action cartoons they could be IMO besides Young Justice which I'm all for airing on Toonami but can't say I expect them to add it until it's completed its' run on CN daytime. I feel airing both Sym-Bionic Titan and ThunderCats has gotten them closer to being the home of the best action cartoons than they were earlier this year and that can be nothing but a good thing regarding the quality of the programming on Toonami.

Looks like A Certain Magical Index won't be on Toonami after all, because it's going to be airing on the FUNimation Channel, according to this video. Also joining the FUNimation Channel is Deadman Wonderland... I wonder if Adult Swim lost the rights to air it?
