"Toonami" News & Discussion Thread

" I thought the "Pirate Announcer" was just TOM doing a pirate voice." and before that post i said it was steve blum who did the voice you know?

I'm pretty sure what he was saying was that he thought it'd turn out to be TOM doing the promo, but it was just Steve Blum out-of-character.

Marooned on One Piece Island. This is an interesting way to hype up One Piece beginning its Toonami run.Official FUNimation Anime Online Community - Marooned on One Piece Island

This whole marathon has been a disaster. After three days, he's barely 80 episodes in because he keeps pausing to take 15-20 minute breaks every hour, stopping for entire hours when he has guests around (rather than, you know, have the guests watch the show with him), keeps rewinding or repeating entire episodes because he "missed something"...

Even the infamous Hundo, with all its commercials and pausing for Adult Swim, got through 100 episodes of Naruto faster than this guy who is being paid to do nothing but watch One Piece. I understand the time he needs to sleep and occasional bathroom breaks, but the time he spends rewinding and pausing is just derailing the whole point of his marathon, which was to watch 206 episodes of One Piece before Toonami airs. He might not even be done with Alabasta by the time Toonami starts, at this rate.

It just shows that he's really into it, that's for certain. I mean, this is more about his reaction since we barely can see the screen anyways.

You know, instead of watching someone else stream, FUNi could have just told them they could stream it themselves and save the trouble.

For about a week, they've had that entire dub archive up. Instead, they distract the viewer on that guy while they quietly take some of the episodes back down.

No, all of the 205 dubbed episode are still up: Watch One Piece online | Free | Hulu

It's been loads of fun. It wouldn't be an event like this without some disasters. That just makes it more interesting.

are you seriously complaining because a guy didnt watch 206 episodes haha wow its actually been alot of fun its not about getting through anymore its about having fun

I haven't really been able to catch much of it but I have tried to watch when he had guests. I wish I could rewatch that hour with Brina Palencia, she's such a sweetheart.

Speaking of One Piece, do we know who's going to be making the talkback threads for it?

Is it ok if I make them? I am already working on the thread, I just need the talkback image...

Huh, I would've figured someone called the One Piece talkback by now. Color me surprised.

Edit: And right as I post. LOL. BrianLeague looks to be stretched thin as it is. If it's cool with him I say go for it.

Oh yeah, I remember seeing you on there (I'm Kestrel Swift). And it sure is fun.

When are these One Piece episodes going to be taken down on Hulu? I'm only 125 episodes in. I hope they aren't taken down right after the Toonami premiere. :\

oh yeah ive seen you ive been on there most of the time when im home :P since tuesday and im loving it

I hope that they aren't taken down either. That would seem counter productive since not many people would be able to watch two hundred episodes before the series premieres on Toonami and keeping the episodes up there would help to give people more time to catch up. Since I don't think that the episodes airing on Toonami are going to be up on Hulu, they probably won't be taking them off of Hulu after the Toonami premiere.

They are already on Hulu, just sub only. The idea is to buy the DVD's if you would like to catch up to the dub or see past where it is airing on Toonami.

Yeah I'm terrible and am only on episode 13 so If they take them down after tonight I will be very disappoint.

Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
