FYI, the specific date that Sym-Bionic Titan ends its current run will be on July 13th. That means we might get a new lineup on July 20th, which is coincidentally a week before FOX's ADHD block debuts. Some have speculated that FOX won't want AS airing The Cleveland Show at the same time as their own block, so we shall see whether or not that will be the case. Of course, for all we know, AS might just replace The Cleveland Show with another one of their own original comedies if FOX makes them remove it from 11:00pm, which could even mean...gulp...the return of Black Dynamite. I feel like one reason AS has been so hesitant about expanding Toonami to 11pm is because Saturdays are the only nights that they're willing to air reruns of The Boondocks, and they're reluctant to give that up.

Actually the current run of Titan has 4 episodes left, so the run will end on July 20th, a week before the start of ADHD. As for The Boondocks, [adult swim] has and will air the series outside of Saturday nights as they so do periodically. Nothing is stopping it's weekly rerun from moving to Sundays aside from their will.

I didn't consider Sym-Bionic Titan ending its current run. That could give them room to add in another new show without an expansion. I'd be fully in favor of a surprise expansion and given what they said about Sara before her return, it's possible, but I'm not sure how likely. Still, at least there should be something new besides Sword Art Online in August, so that's pretty cool.

Wishful thinking, but maybe....just maybe...the surprise is....we're FINALLY getting back MegasXLR? Toonami has made it clear that they've been looking into it, but it's more complicated than IGPX was. This would truly be worth the surprise they're teasing about, since we already know SAO is coming and the return of GITS/FLCL/Big O wouldn't be wow worthy enough. If Megas really does come back, I'd say that's more likely to replace Sym-Bionic Titan, and SAO would still come in August to replace E7 when it ends.

Of shows I like to suggest, here is one I haven't thought of, very underrated shows that I forgot how much I enjoyed when it was on, but about adding to the lineup in the 2 am - 3: 30 am time frame, Blue Dragon uncut. Personally I rather they skipped the first season and air season 2 which was dubbed but never released.

The on-air schedule has updated and shows some interesting updates! On July 27th, Sword Art Online will premiere at 2am. This pushes IGPX and Eureka 7 down a slot and removes ThunderCats from the schedule. Also, Big O season 2 replaces Sym-Bionic Titan on the same week.

The new line-up (starting July 27) will look as follows:

12:30AM - Naruto
01:00AM - One Piece
01:30AM - Soul Eater
02:00AM - Sword Art Online
02:30AM - IGPX: Immortal Grand Prix

Well, I'm glad at least that the One Piece/Soul Eater hour is unchanged. I can easily just go to sleep after watching them. Like, I'll miss out on IGPX I guess but I honestly find that show very boring so I'm not too reluctant to drop it at this point. I'm disappointed they are airing Big O season 2 again without having managed to reacquire season 1, but The Big O is awesome and you don't need season one to enjoy season 2 for the most part. Although, I'm surprised that they are airing The Big O instead of Ghost in the Shell again since Ghost in the Shell has more episodes, but I can clearly see that they want to keep a Giant Robot Hour in the block. With Sword Art Online coming this early, I wonder what will replace Eureka 7 in August. It's also very strange that Thundercats and Symbionic Titan are both gone from the lineup...I hope that they still have the ability to reair them in the future because while I've seen them enough times as it is and neither one is particularly a favorite of mine they are nice fodder for reruns and are a better alternative to more Cowboy Bebop and InuYasha reruns.

That and it doesn't look like Aniplex pushed for a "better" premiere slot for the dub premiere. I guess when your competition is the Shonen Jump all-stars and Soul Eater you back down in the corner where you belong.

If that does end up happening, I wonder if they'll swallow their pride and push IGPX to 3AM or actually premiere a show after IGPX. I suppose it depends on how new or expensive the other show is. Having lost TC and feeling SBT needs a break it's probably wise to hold back on "the mystery show" until IGPX ends which will also be the week both Big O season 2 and Cowboy Bebop finish. FLCL seems destined for 3AM when E7 ends but we'll see.

Aw crap. Losing Thundercats means one less show available for them to use as reruns in the later hours of the night, which means even more consecutive Cowboy Bebop reruns in the future... Well, maybe they can snatch The Secret Saturdays from Boomerang, maybe even Samurai Jack though that might be more difficult since that's a show Cartoon Network actually cares about.

This has been confirmed. They're losing the rights to ThunderCats, but Sym-Bionic Titan will be back in the future.

That's a shame. While I'm not a huge fan of the Thundercats, it did fit on the block pretty well, it provided some bit of diversity with not being an anime and losing the rights does mean that they have one less show to put on the later hours too. I'm kind of surprised they're losing the rights to it. I thought that they would be able to keep it on the block for at least until their second run ended.

I wasn't expecting Sword Art Online to start a bit earlier either. I'm not surprised by the 2AM slot though. At most, it could have taken Soul Eater's slot, but I don't think that they would have wanted to change the lineup for the first hour and a half. This does give me an excuse to just drop the rest of Eureka Seven, but since it will be so close to the end of the series anyway, I might as well lose more sleep just to get it over with. I really wonder if they'll put the mystery show at 3AM or if they'll push IGPX down the lineup. They don't have a problem with 3AM premiers and I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing when that could help people to stick through the block longer, but it would probably have to be a really good show for me to stick around for its whole run at that timeslot.

They don't have a problem with 3AM premiers and I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing when that could help people to stick through the block longer, but it would probably have to be a really good show for me to stick around for its whole run at that timeslot.

My guess is that if the mystery show is coming in August to replace Eureka 7 then IGPX will be pushed down to 3am to keep the Giant Robot Hour a thing, while the new show gets the 2:30am timeslot.

I had it in my head that Thundercats was a free show, so there was no such things as 'rights'.

Interesting new lineup - look forward to checking out SAO and the return of Big O, even if just Season 2. Wonder how many runs they'll give it.

That would make sense and they'd probably want to give the new show a better slot than IGPX. Putting it at 3AM might not be outside of the realm of possibilities, but hopefully, it will be at 2:30AM, if only so I have a tad more time to sleep.
