I personally think the forum outcry here over SAO is pretty darn ridiculous. It's not that bad of a show.

I agree. It's a pretty good show, specially aesthetically. Of course I've only seen it do standalone/filler episodes, but it seems pretty interesting. Although I could do without the fanservice, that's more of a pet peeve about anime in general.
It also has really good action scenes.

I can't really speak on Eva 3's quality, but I don't think that Dalek's comments on Sword Art Online is the reason why most of the people here don't like the series. Even if he didn't say anything about the series, I seriously doubt that the general attitude towards the series would be any different. My thoughts on Sword Art Online's quality wouldn't be any different at least.

It's probably not as good as 2.0 (which is a HIGH bar to reach), but it's still great, and I might not have ever anticipated a single film as much as I anticipate 4.0.

I thought it was more like he was clear from the start that he hated the show, not that no one would like it. Obviously people do like it not only here, but the show was successful in Japan from what I understand and people wanted it on Toonami, so it does have appeal for some people. Personally, I'm not really seeing much in the show aside from good artwork and fight scenes, but some people might like it a lot more for other reasons and that's perfectly fine. Someone saying that something is terrible isn't going to completely affect my opinion on the matter since I'd really need to see the show or movie to gain a more solid opinion on its quality anyway. I haven't really seen any of the other EVA movies besides 1.11 and I've never seen any of the series, but from what I've read about it, I can see why it would be so appealing to people and possibly speak personally to them. I like the 1.11 and thought that it was pretty interesting, so I'm up for seeing 2.22 myself. It should be an interesting and engaging movie.

Hey Jason, have you heard of the Kickstarted Production I.G. short anime film "Kick-Heart"?

Of course! It was a big story and those guys are friends of ours. I haven't seen it yet but I can't wait to check it out.

Unless stuff has aired on Toonami in the past without Jason watching it, I guess this eliminates Kick-Heart as the special. Would have been great to show (Masaaki Yuasa needs all the exposure in the West he can get) but there's still plenty of other cool possibilities.

Whatever the SPECIAL is, I personally hope for no confirmation until the very moment it begins, cause IMO, some suspense should be kept until that time. Whatever the Toonami team cooked up, I hope it's not heard of until 2:30am EST after Evangelion 2.22

Come on, guys. You know that if one person doesn't like a show then that means that nobody likes(or can like) the show. After all, everybody has the same likes and dislikes when it comes to entertainment, and anybody who disagrees with another person in regards to the quality of a show simply has no taste. That's the general consensus of internet , right?

Titan was expected, DBZ I'm a bit surprised holds on, but people are die-hards. I am surprised about Fairy Tail though. I didn't think it had that huge a fanbase.

This was one of the shows I mentioned about in the ratings thread that many anime fans who wrote to the Toonami Faithful tumblr (I think) said they would've rather have instead of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. It's the new popular anime show. I don't think it deserves to be on Toonami in more ways than one, but it really is popular and vocally more preferred to be on the block.[/QUOTE]

Total Immersion Event. The old Toonami aired them every September from 2000-2003. They were 5-minute specials that aired every weekday for a whole week, and there was also an interactive online game for each one.

Okay so someone asked for the name of tracks in certain promos on Toonami back when it was on Saturday nights and the crew couldn't help answer those questions. I can't really answer them myself, but I can at least pinpoint the promos he's referring to.

Here's the Oct. 29, 2005 promo, the Jan. 21, 2006 promo 1 and the Feb. 25 2006 promo. Whoever know which tracks these are, it would be helpful. All I can figure is that whatever they are, they are probably within the vast Ninja Tune record label archive since that was around the time Toonami used a bunch of tracks from that label.

Also, whatever this surprise is, we don't have to wait until the surprise airs apparently. So tune in tonight for an announcement.
