They mentioned years ago that they got the broadcast rights for FLCL directly from Production I.G, not Synch-Point. Which is why FLCL aired with the Japanese ending credits instead of the English credits.

I must have missed that explantion. I had always wondered why Synch-Point would hand over non-translated credits like that.

Outlaw Star could potentially air at 2:30 when FLCL ends even before FMAB finishes because I imagine if they got a good enough deal they would buy run more than 3 shows from FUNimation at a time. Not all companies deals are created equal, Aniplex only has one slot right now. Viz gets both the front hour and the back hour which in a sense is better than getting 4 slots within the block. Cowboy Bebop will likely be a special case so they can hold on to it long term again while most other FUNimation shows will probably only air once at least for the time being. That said, I don't expect Outlaw Star to be what replaces FLCL and it may be surprisingly expensive to get due to popularity. I'd like to see it air though.

Michiko & Hatchin, Jormungand and Eureka 7 AO are going to air on the FUNimation Channel so you might consider them out of the running for the moment. It does not seem that Guilty Crown or Future Diary will be on FUNi Channel yet so take that as you will.

I'm not sure if that would necessarily make those shows out of the running. Toonami would give those shows more exposure than the Funimation Channel could and I'm pretty sure that Casshern Sins was on the block while it was running on Funimation Channel too.

I'm pretty sure FLCL would be a FUNi contract now seeing as the old licensee has been dead for years.

Guessing once FLCL ends we get a bunch of movies for December. Of course that leaves the question of what happens in January. Schedule shift to make room for Space Dandy at the top of the block (since Bleach is weakening and it makes sense to have a Watanabe show next to the Watanabe-influenced Boondocks). That would certainly be great news for the new year.

I doubt they'll have movies for all of December just because it's December. They'll have a new show if they want, and they had no problem bringing Naruto in December last year. Also, movies all month long would mean a bunch of premieres getting pre-empted, and I'd rather that not happen. That's why movie nights should be something special. Plus, it's not like movies come cheap. Speaking of movies, Toonami answered a few more questions this morning, and they said movies will not repeat anytime in the immediate future.

Samurai 7, Casshern Sins and Soul Eater were all on FUNimation Channel before airing on Toonami but none of them were recently added to that network at the time.

As with shows going to Neon Alley, it seems to me the indication is there that Toonami couldn't get them or passed on them and that's why they are going to FUNi Channel or Neon Alley instead of airing on Toonami. TV networks prefer to get shows first and exclusivity matters greatly in negotiations. Sometimes there are contractual obligations not to air a show on another network even if it's just for a certain time frame.

If Michiko & Hatchin or Jormungand was coming to Toonami, why would FUNImation run them on their network that a lot less people have when that voids exclusivity? They're not desperate to fill their hours. They have a rather large library of shows they can air on the channel.

That doesn't mean they never will but until even one show joins Toonami while it is still premiering episodes on FC or NA I will not be convinced a show will join Toonami shortly after airing on either. I'd love to be proven wrong about that but until there is an exception that's how I see it.

This could be the year Toonami airs a show that premiered on Neon Alley but chances are it will be on that finished it's premiere run on Neon Alley months prior to when it joins Toonami. I'm holding out a little hope for Tiger & Bunny but Blue Exorcist and InuYasha: The Final Act all also shows that Neon Alley has been airing since the service started nearly a year ago.

If restoring the ending song meant butchering the opening, I'd rather they not. TANK! shouldn't be touched at all.

They probably would shorten the ending. That's fine. There was a time that they used to do that before they scrapped the ending entirely.

Of course the exceptions would be Naruto and One Piece airing on Neon Alley before being picked up by Toonami just a few months later.

InuYasha as well but all 3 of them had aired on CN/AS before. Naruto and InuYasha were picked up 1-2 months after Neon Alley began streaming but One Piece was on Neon Alley for about half a year before Toonami played it again. Now Bleach is on Neon Alley so that's 4 shows that both share. However nothing that made it's US debut on Neon Alley (as in it wasn't even on DVD yet) has later aired on Toonami so far. I think we'll see some Neon Alley's first season's premieres on Toonami in 2014 but that depends on if Viz or Aniplex and Toonami can come to an agreement on any of them.

The only thing that I know will be airing on Neon Alley that I want on Toonami is Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet. I'm not sure if there would be enough action to qualify it for Toonami, but in the face of horrible choices like Valvrave, it's actually a good mecha anime.

It has enough action probably. But it also has a pretty weak midsection (episode 5 being downright awful) despite a great beginning and solid ending. Not a top choice for Toonami IMO. Probably better than Valvrave, but seeing as Valvrave doesn't even have the fanbase SAO has, I'd hope Toonami would pass over Valvrave.

The dub of Evangelion 3.33 will be premiering at NYCC, I'll be disappointed if this is the movie for Toonami's next movie night. While it would be cool to get a possible dub premiere on TV before a home video release, I really do want to see something non-Eva movie air.

Yeah... Personally I didn't feel EVA 3.0 lived up to the first two movies in Rebuild. If Toonami went without airing it, I'd be fine with that.

I wouldn't be surprised if they did have 3.33 for their next movie night. They probably would like to air it on TV before it goes out on DVD to get a chance for some good ratings. Though, I'd be in favor of seeing some non-EVA movie air instead. The first two movies were pretty good and all, but I don't really see the mass appeal for the franchise in general, so I'd like to see them try out some other movies. Although, I don't think I'd want them to air a Bleach movie either since I don't care much for the series.

I have a feeling the next movie night will be in December, and will probably be something else. Then they might have another movie night in March for Toonami's 17th birthday, and that'll likely be when they show 3.33.

So when do these goodies usually air again? I stopped seeing game reviews after Soul Eater moved to 1:30, so my guess is either One Piece, Bleach, or Naruto.

Just a reminder if you guys didn't know about it already: As of this past Monday, Neilsen is now counting Twitter trends towards ratings. Every trending tweet will count as 50 viewers.

So get those hashtags ready, we might be able to have a positive effect on the ratings.

Promos, game reviews and music videos usually premiere right before Bleach goes to commercial break. Only on rare occasions though would they air right before Naruto goes into commercial break.

Aside from that, they air before the first commercial break of every hour in that night I think. So say there's a game review premiering one night. It'll premiere right before the first commercial break after midnight, then again at the first commercial break after 1am, and then the first commercial break after 2am and so on and so on. That's at least the recurring pattern I notice.
