Will Summer Camp Island and/or Steven Universe be DFC's new flagship(s) in 2025?

In order for a show to become a flagship, shouldn't it be something new?
I don't see how a show that already ended on another network can become a "flagship."
Yeah this is more like it, but I still think it could have a Killer App as in THE SHOW people tune in to watch.

If the Hasbro shows do leave (including MLP), I can imagine Discovery Family being replaced by a completely different channel.

The Hasbro shows really aren't as vital to DFC as you seem to think they are. With the entire WB library at their disposal, they don't need the Hasbro stuff to survive, and the lack of those shows wouldn't dramatically alter the channel's schedule or format. DFC doesn't need the canceled Hasbro shows now that they have a bunch of old WB and Hanna-Barbera stuff in the vault to pick and choose from.

That's not likely to happen. Cable TV is slowly going the way of the dodo. Launching a new linear cable channel in this current market would be a waste of money, time and effort. Presumably, Discovery Family will rebrand as DFC at some point. Warner Discovery hasn't announced or even hinted at any new original shows coming to the channel. DFC will likely remain a rerun farm like Boomerang, but the absence of Hasbro shows won't kill the channel.

It's possible that WBD may want to combine Boomerang and DFC into a single channel. That seems to be most we can hope for.

Even though the Hasbro shows leaving isn't gonna kill Discovery Family, it does mark the end of an era as the last shows from The Hub era of the network leave after 15 years. Yes things pretty much lost steam when they stopped producing new shows following the Warner-Discovery merger (or 2019 when the MLP series finale aired) but it's still notable when the last influence from The Hub era is gone.

I think if there's one show that should be a flagship show on DFC, then it has to be a new show than one that has since ended.
Agreed. The problem there is that ever since Friendship is Magic ended, LPS: A World of Our Own ceased production and Hanazuki faded away, the channel's become a rerun farm. The current DFC is basically another Boomerang, only with some Discovery shows.

Yeah. And to be honest NOT EVEN the "NOT rerun farms" have Flagship shows anymore. Only Killer Apps or what people come to the channel to watch.

I think the rerun farm status happened a bit later than that when Pony Life and Transformers Rescue Bots Academy ended in 2021. The Discovery merger with WB happening around that time may have given them less motivation to try with new shows when they have Cartoon Network (not that it's doing much better with all new stuff going to Adult Swim).

Shame too since I hear MLP Gen 5 was intended to air on Discovery Family as a 2D show until COVID hit, leading the movie to be distributed by Netflix instead of going to theaters and leading Netflix to take over distribution rights of Gen 5. More about it here:

Not even surprised about this since Hasbro is not in a great state right now, given their handling of Power Rangers after all.
