Shocking news from the wrestling world today: Ring of Honor Wrestling (considered the "fourth" big promotion alongside WWE, AEW and Impact) announced that it would temporarily cease operations for the first quarter of 2022 as part of a relaunch with "a new mission and strategy", with a planned return in April 2022 to live events.
But that's not the biggest part of the story. Per reports, all talent signed to Ring of Honor will be terminated effective December 31. That means wrestlers like Bandido, Dragon Lee, Rok-C, et cetera will all be free agents, and dozens of backstage personnel will suddenly find themselves out of work.
If there's any good to come from this, I hope this means ROH declares independence from Sinclair Broadcasting. They've been nothing but trouble for them in the past few years.
