The classic Dr. Seuss “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” morphed from Theodore Geisel’s children’s book to an animated holiday classic in 1966 then to a full-fledged live-action CGI feature film directed by Ron Howard and starring Jim Carrey in 2000 and now will be “re-imagined” for animated attempt at a feature film in 2017. Universal announced that the new version will be produced by Chris Meledandri [all “Despicable Me” and “Ice Age” films] and have the blessing of Audrey Geisel, who will serve as executive producer for the film.
The new, animated “How The Grinch Stole Christmas” is currently scheduled for a November 17, 2017 release.
