At this point the clips Disney has been using to promote Inside Out 2 have been worn into the ground. Everyone’s seen Riley play hockey and the control center get a spontaneous remodel, and then Anxiety introduces herself…we get the idea already. So why watch one more? Because most of the worn-out clips don’t show up here. Somehow, this one consists mostly of clips we haven’t seen before.
There’s a new scene of Riley wailing in bed and a new look inside the parents’ heads. There’s even, somehow, a never-before-revealed emotion. Disney says this is the LAST Inside Out 2 trailer they will ever make before its release, and with the movie coming out in just ten days, we see no reason not to believe them.
As we’ve previously laid out, the plot of Inside Out 2 is that four new emotions, Anxiety, Envy, Ennui and Embarrassment, emerge during a puberty rush and quickly take over Riley’s mind, forcing the displaced original emotions out. The movie was written by Kelsey Mann and Meg LeFauve, directed by Mann, produced by Mark Nielsen and executive produced by Pete Docter, Jonas Rivera and Dan Scanlon
Once more for those in the back, this is the voice cast of Inside Out 2: Amy Poehler as Joy, Maya Hawke as Anxiety, Liza Lapira as Disgust, Tony Hale as Fear, Lewis Black as Anger, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Ayo Edebiri as Envy, Adèle Exarchopoulos as Ennui, Paul Walter Hauser as Embarrassment, Kensington Tallman as Riley, Lilimar as Val Ortiz, Grace Lu as Grace, Sumayyah Nuriddin-Green as Bree, Diane Lane as Riley’s mom, Kyle MacLachlan as Riley’s dad and Yvette Nicole Brown as Coach Roberts.
Supporting voices include Sarayu Blue, Flea, Ron Funches, Dave Goelz, James Austin Johnson, Bobby Moynihan, Frank Oz, Paula Pell, Paula Poundstone, John Ratzenberger, Kendall Coyne Schofield, June Squibb, Kirk Thatcher, and Yong Yea. If you’re wondering where Mindy Kaling is, maybe she’s hiding under a bed after the reaction to Velma. Dunno.
Pixar’s Inside Out 2 releases in theaters June 14.
