Ninjas are cool. Dinosaurs are cool. Here’s a thought, what if there was a cartoon where ninjas could summon and/or transform into dinosaurs? The acclaimed director of The Apothecary Diaries, Norihiro Naganuma, has decided that this a brilliant idea that merits its own series. Of all the Anime Expo reveals, this series looks to have the most memorable premise. Trailer here,
Based on the trailer, it looks like Tokyo gets destroyed in a disaster of sorts and its up to a color coded team of ninjas who can summon and/or transform into CGI dinosaurs. Despite the silly premise that sounds like a kids TV show, we see some blood here. Here’s the official synopsis that gives more detail into what we can expect,
“The story is set in Tokyo in 2029. Dinosaurs, long believed to have been wiped out by the asteroid impact, have secretly survived by passing their DNA into humanity through interbreeding. Hidden among ordinary people, they now prey upon humans while living unnoticed within society. Standing against them is a covert order of ninjas who wield Ryugesho, a special pigment infused with ancient memories. By applying this mysterious pigment, they awaken the powers of dinosaurs within themselves and fight back against the predators threatening humanity. As the dinosaurs launch their campaign to wipe out humankind, the ninjas rise to stop them. The battle for the survival of two species begins.”
This will be Naganuma’s first action anime as his current magnum opus is a historical drama. This is also the studio CannonCode’s first major work. Other staff from the anime includes:

Looks like this anime is made by many of the creatives of The Apothecary Diaries, although this series is very different from it. The premise seems to be the perfect cheesy awesome action anime premise. Hopefully, it will live up to its premise.
