Animation director Michael Sporn is reporting that Golden Age animator Lu Guarnier passed away on December 29, 2007 at the age of 93. Guarnier started his career at Warner Brothers in the 1930’s as an in-betweener for Bob Clampett and eventually worked his way up to animator. He later worked for the UPA animation studios on Mr. Magoo, and on the Berenstain Bears’ Christmas Tree and Strawberry Shortcake in Big Apple City animated TV movies.
