There are a lot of video game franchises out there that exist within the fighting genre. Super Smash Bros, Mortal Kombat, Tekken, King of Fighters, and so on. Each of them have their own styles and personalities that make them great and fun. Street Fighter though is one of the most popular of the franchise despite their only being “five main titles”. But now, that’s about to get a new addition as Street Fighter 6 has officially been confirmed by Capcom.
This happened last night in a teased event, and it built upon a lot that was going on with Capcom. Because they all but confirmed Street Fighter 6 a while ago but never followed up on it in a meaningful way.
But now, we have a teaser trailer, and it definitely shows off some things, though maybe not the things you were expecting…
As you can see, there are a few things that this teaser trailer has highlighted. Not the least of which are the character models which look insanely detailed and have small animations that make them feel even more vivid and alive (see: small flexes of muscles and veins popping out when they clench their fists).
Obviously, we can’t say that the whole game will look like this teaser trailer, but if it does…it will be a visual marvel.
The second thing that was highlighted here was not the presence of Ryu, but the presence of Luke. Ryu is of course the main character of sorts from the Street Fighter franchise, but Luke is the newest addition to the lore. In fact, he was the character that was the last DLC character for SFV, with the promise that he would have a “relevant role” in the next game, which we now know about.
Capcom also promised that we’ll have more details about the game this summer.
