This morning Disney held the first Star Wars Celebration conference in years, and dumped a bucketload of project news, First up: the first of what will probably be several trailers for the next live-action Star Wars series, Andor.
Rogue One is usually named the favorite of the Disney-produced Star Wars movies, and we’re about to get more of it in the form of this prequel series that sees Diego Luna returning as Cassian Andor. The series will cover the origins of the Rebellion against the Empire. Andor has been gifted the longest run of any non-animated Star Wars series to date, at 24 episodes over two seasons. The first of these seasons will hit Disney+ August 31.
We’ve got a date for The Mandalorian’s return, and it is….NOT this holiday season. Sorry, folks, Mando needs a bit more time. It was also revealed Christopher Lloyd has a role in the upcoming season, and Katee Sackhoff will be reprising Bo-Katan at some point. Mando still has something she wants: the Darksaber, a weapon she would have to kill him to properly acquire (good luck with that, he’s the main character). Mando and Grogu will return, with their neat new ship, February 2023.

A few weeks ago Lucasdfilm hinted at a new Star Wars series in development with a cast of mostly children, which they code-named “Grammar Rodeo.” The official title has been revealed now: Skeleton Crew. The goal with this is “a galactic version of classic Amblin coming-of-age adventure films of the ’80s.” While the series will use a cast of kids it won’t be strictly FOR children; a family audience is the aim. Skeleton Crew should premiere sometime in 2023.

Here’s the first publicly released screenshot from Indiana Jones 5. Even though all the footage has been shot, it’s going to be over a year before the final edit hits theaters. So for now, all you get is this silhouette of Senior Citizen Indy.
And there’s more!
One of the Lucasfilm properties that doesn’t get quite as much love, Willow, will be returning with Warwick Davis reprising the central character. Willow has been given a new quest: to help Princess Kit (Ruby Cruz) rescue her twin brother. Assisting Willow and Kit will be a warrior (Erin Kellyman), a thief (Amar Chadha-Patel), and…this is beginning to sound like a D&D game. The Willow series premieres this November.
