How much is Venom going to make in theaters its opening weekend? Any estimates?
Venom has been a very curious project from Sony. After all, it doesn’t directly tie into the Spider-Man or Marvel Cinematic Universes. In fact, the origin is much different from the comics. As such, fans and critics are divided on how good the movie actually is (check Rotten Tomatoes, the scores vary between the two).
But, estimates are now saying that Venom is going to be making around $80 million during its opening weekend at the domestic box office. To be put that into perspective, that’s about what recent solo outings for the MCU have gotten in recent years, like Doctor Strange, among others. Whether it gets a sequel though, or if the estimates are indeed accurate, still remains to be seen.
