As Raidon Makoto mentioned, people have uploaded bumpers for shows and it has been acceptable. Considering that these are bumpers for a block, I don't believe that there's a problem with uploading them.

TZ has a rule against downloads from those kinds of sites, though. So. he can't go through with that.

I was under the impression that this rule focused more on how links to episodes of a show couldn't be uploaded unless they were official. Bumpers have been accepted as far as I know. Of course, it is possible that I misunderstood it so I will look into the matter later on.

I'm going to take a moment to mention once again that I really miss having action animation between 4PM and 7PM on Cartoon Network. I realize there's occasoinally something actiony in that slot due to the randomness of the schedule but I want something consistant that has good variety in those hours. That's the closest they'll come to keeping the spirit of Toonami IMO. Much more so than a premiere block any given night because Toonami was a weekday strip for the majority of it's life-span.

I'll also mention that I want to see more of their action premieres in prime time be it on Friday night or maybe Saturday night in a new SVES-esque block using what they previously premiered on Saturday mornings. Saturday mornings are a TERRIBLE time for CN to have action premieres. The ratings are proof enough.

I agree. I've always associated action cartoons at night. Saturday mornings, just doesn't feel right... I believe Saturday nights are the perfect time to see action premieres.

That's true.

Yes, bumpers have been accepted but usually the ones people post are linked from Youtube. Sites like Megaupload (the one he mentioned) aren't allowed.

I had a feeling that was the case after I looked things over. My mistake. Sorry about that. Thank you for clearing that up for me.

It's interested that I didn't watch too much of Toonami until after it moved to Saturday nights, which some consider when the block was starting to go down in quality. It probably helped that more of the shows I like, such as Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, were there during the first hour. It probably would have been nice to see how it was when it was on in the afternoon, especially since it had some nice shows on back then, but I was much more interested in Kids' WB and Nick at the time.

Toonami was fun times. I can still remember seeing that "Pardon Our Dust" music video for the first time and thinking, "this is some cool stuff". I can say I enjoyed the block until the very end of it.

I'd say my favorite periods of Toonami were Summer/Fall 2000 and Spring/Summer 2004. Both had some crazy line ups and it really felt a event watching the show as corny as that sounds.

Yeah. that's true. I guess some action cartoons fit better in the night, while some fit more in the morning. For example, the shows that played in Toonami (i.e. Japanese animation) would not really fit playing in the mornings. Imagine watching Toonami on Saturday Mornings...I can't. But for the most part, that was a great call.

*sigh* Toonami. Those were some good times. Sometimes I wish I could go back there for a while. Everything was cool about Toonami. The action packed cartoons, the music videos, the TIEs, even the intros were cool.

It's hard to believe Toonami finished a year ago. It feels like it still died yesterday. And none of its shows remain on the air at Cartoon Network, except for sporadic Teen Titans reruns and Ben 10: Alien Force, and the latter won't last forever, it'll be done before the year is out.

The final remnants of Toonami will be gone by 2010. Sad, just very, very sad. They've wasted no time on removing all traces of it.

I think it finally hit me 100% that Toonami will not return was when Disney XD picked up Naruto Shippuden. More than DBZ, Naruto was Toonami to me. For some reason, as long as I knew that Naruto was still languishing on CN Video, that maybe someone would tell the executives how hot of a property Naruto still was, that they are rejecting a surefire ratings winner. But now the executives will have no chance to correct their mistake on the matter. It will most likely bite them in the ass for the next several years until they are fired or Shippuden wraps up on DXD.

There's still action programming on the network but the vast majority of them are toygetic in nature, which is something that Cartoon Network didn't really go for until the last couple of years. It really shows how much the culture of Cartoon Network has changed, particular in the last year as nearly every action show besides Clone Wars is built to sell merch first and tell a story second.

Japan hasn't really cranked out anything truly awesome other than Eden of the East recently, but there are some truly quality shows that's coming out, such as Soul Eater and SGT. Frog, that Cartoon Network would be foolish to pass on. But apparently, they are. Heck, it's possible that even Bleach won't run past season 7, as there's no hint seasons 8 or beyond have been picked up.

And pretty much all of Adult Swim is a 'remnant of Toonami,' and that's not going any time soon.

Well it's been a whole year. It's hard to believe that it was that long. I remember when I first heard about toonami's cancellation. I saw a video of it on youtube the next day, and I couldn't believe it. But honestly I barely watched it in it's final year so I couldn't really say much. The only thing I did watch in 2008 was ToonamiJetstream. As long as that was up it seemed fine to me. Once that was taken down it finally hit me that Toonami really was gone.

Anyways, Rest In Peace Toonami. You will never be forgotten.

It's sad that we can't have a memorial thread in its own forum, and that one of the most unique things about Toon Zone is gone, and all memories documented on it.
