The Toonami Thread

Unfortunately There is no source. But if you check on the adult swim boards you see that there going to say something toonami related this saturday.

However I have know just moments ago found out that we toonami fans could be facing a serious problem. That problem is that a huge fan base created their own toonami called neotoonami and well they don't tend on ending it just because toonami could be coming back. I fear that if adult swim finds out not only will we have a major problem but toonami revival could end up dead.

i doubt tht they would boot the prodution of it just because of the fan project but how do u know how they will annouce something

Well Normally I would agree with you however have you seen the quality of NeoToonami's video it looks exactly like the real toonami. Plus they even have a guy who sounds exactly the same as the guy who voices tom. Plus they have a person who's voices sara of the absultion. Guess what she too sounds like the real sara. So what if people get confused. Plus having too toonami running at the same time can not be a good thing for getting toonami back on the air. Due to the fact that people could just go online whenever they want and watch Neotoonami for free.

We (many of us at TZ) have known about Neo Toonami for a long time. A very long time.

Lets first off be clear on this: Neo Toonami does not have a huge following despite a lot of work going into their project.

There's actually every reason to think Neo Toonami had an influence on bringing back Toonami. We know Turner / William Street etc has looked at their work and has given some thumbs up to their work instead of attempting a law suit with them.

The work they've done is pretty good --- but its not as good as the real thing. I don't think it takes having a BA in computer graphics to realize that its good but certainly not as good as the original and honestly still needs more practice to get there.

That being said, their commitment to the cause may earn them a chance to work at the real thing. We'll have to stay tuned and see what happens there.

I think Adult Swim needs a voice behind their shows and Tom would be perfect for it. That's all I'm going to say regarding the decision [AS] makes.

If Toonami ends up coming back, I'll be a walking billboard for the block. I sold at least 50-60 people on Toonami back in high school and college, and I can easily do it again.

Well it is possible then that turner is going to pay a very small price and buy out their website and use as an internet form of toonami. I mean toonami once had an online website and video form called toonami jetstream. Although I never liked the name I think they lost the website address property to someone. Possibly they could buy or hire the neotoonami people and use them to create an internet official form of toonami. I for one sure hope that would happen.

However they are still a bit of problem due to the fact they have a diffrent version of tom named tom 5 and adult swim's tom is probably gonna be the third version of tom.

I'm going to give Williams St. the benefit of the doubt here. I can't help but put my skepticism in full force, I'll just wait until Saturday to see if this isn't a cruel joke.

do u guys think tehll make a new tom sara and absolution or just use tom 3

How? How is this any different from a fanfic someone has made of any number of series? Its no more or less a problem then some random person building a complete fanfic around DBZ and depicting Goku in a way that built up a following. If Toriyama decides he's going to make a new Dragon Ball series he can either snatch up ideas the public used (which would cost money to buy the IP) or go make his own thing. It's not going to change the viewership enough for anyone to care. If the series is good, people will watch it.

This is absolutely a non-issue.

They still have the domain. It's really unlikely they're gonna buy out NeoToonami.

NeoToonami is irrelevant. Most of the people tweeting in the campaign probably have no idea that it even exists. And because they're a bunch of criminals, let's stop talking about them. Seriously. Stop it.

You have my respect.

Anyway, if CN still has the website, thats a good sign, IMO. I mean, they must have kept it for a reason.

Not really. They usually keep domains so no-one else can use it or their brand name.

They kept stuff like ghostplanet.com, too.

However, there are some new boards up for shows like DBZ and Tenchi on the AS forums.

After the April Fools thing Toonami will most likely come back, all I have to say is WHOOO!!!

After Toonami was cancelled, I haven't been watching anime, like, at all. I saw the Mass Effect Review which was totallly BA. Just Dang, CN is just redeeming themselves in my eyes with DC Nation, Cartoon Planet, and the possible return of Toonami. All in one year (possibly), wow.

Don't get ur hopes up

Its hard to keep track of everything going on in all the Toonami threads these days, but I figured I'd (re)post it here in case I missed it being said earlier in the thread.

Jason DeMarco of Adult Swim / William Street confirmed Toonami won't be on this weekend. He further said "stay tuned" and "getting Toonami rolling is a ton of work" (actual quotes - cuss words removed in case mods still frown upon that being in quotes).

It sounds like any hopes of an encore this weekend just isn't in the books --- but you never know. Something random could happen.

Steve Blum has said about the same on various social media.

Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
