Toonami Anticipation Thread

I'm also kind of hoping that the block will NOT be all anime, I'm hoping to see 1 or 2 non-Japanese action shows on the block......even if they don't air until the final hour. People tend to forget that Toonami isn't an anime block more so than it was an action block, it just helped to make anime a little more relevant in the United States.

Problem with that is, there's very little American Action cartoons that are aimed at adults.

I'd dig some XLR in the 5.30am slot, though.

So when are we going to bring back the Toonami section?

This is basically the perfect venue for a more edgy DCAU series.

So guys I found some interesting old UK promos and things on this channel:

Hey Beefy, didn't you or Tyler have a bunch of UK stuff you were gonna upload to the arsenal at some point but never got around to? All this makes me kinda want to see more..

This is no Steve Blum and makes me raise an eyebrow:

If it is, I hope the mentions of Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt and Inuyasha are hinting that they will air Panty & Stocking and Inuyasha: The Final Act on Toonami this Saturday.

At the very least, the fact they have mentioned Panty & Stocking might reflect that they have some interest in airing the show.

Thank goodness we have Steve Blum in the US. This guy sounds like the voice TOM should have had when Toonami was running on Kids WB instead of being a silent.

I didn't see that promo during the action block last night so unless it aired during the comedy portion then I'm gonna say it's fake.

A very good fake bump but a fake none the less.

For one thing I don't believe Adult Swim has ever mentioned Skrillex.

FUNimation linked to it on their Facebook, saying [as] was trolling. It seems to be legit.

Well if that's legit and they do air Panty & Stocking then that's great and quite bold of them.

If anyone doesn't like it, it's only 13 episodes so it's not that hard to simply ignore for a while.

Well based on what we know from FUNi they pitched it to them, but Adult Swim turned them down saying they don't think the series has a big enough audience. This is just a troll, like FUNi said on their Facebook.

I will be pleasantly surprised if we get a 6 hour Toonami with no repeats even tho it says right now kind of that it will repeat. I will say that Toonami has never had repeats but Adult Swim generally has for as long as they've had the extra time to do so. So honestly who knows. I feel like the lack of real on-air promotion unless you are paying attention to Adult Swim bumpers could be not so great but I also feel like word-of-mouth on this whole thing has gone pretty far. And honestly I imagine Toonami will be getting some kind of promos once it's aired at least once. I'm under te impression that they are still perfecting new TOM animations and that's why we haven't had any actual promos yet. I'm sure they could have slapped together something from old TOM3 footage with Blum saying stuff if they really wanted to but it seems like we are gonna get at least some kinda new stuff.

12:30 and 1:00 slots are Deadmans Wonderland and Cashern Sins according to the backdoor schedule. Can't link it atm

They're also listed on the regular schedule as well.

They're going to air Casshern Sins on Toonami?! That's freaking awesome! I loved Casshern Sins and have been hoping that people would eventually discover it one way or another, to know its going to be getting some air time on Toonami makes me extremely happy. I've never seen Deadman's Wonderland so it will be a nice treat to check it out each and every week during the block, hopefully its entertaining.

Very interesting if true. I remember joking to one of my friends a while back that I could see Casshern Sins airing on AS(it's my second favorite anime actually) back when they had those three mystery titles in 2010. Of course the only problem is that the show is rather...depressing. There is a good amount of action though so maybe the heavy handed plot may not effect things too much.

Deadman Wonderland would a great fit if it's true. It would be sort of surprising that Funi would have it dubbed that fast though...

Both shows are showing up on adultswim.com under their schedule tab, so its basically confirmed. The only odd thing is that all the other shows have an episode description but Deadman's Wonderland and Casshern Sins doesn't for some reason. Odd.

Also, it looks like the block will be 12am-3am and then repeated from 3am-6am, which is kind of a bummer. I was hoping for 6 hours of pure Toonami goodness instead of a full on repeat.....

It's weird, I see the on the schedule, but I'm still having a hard time believing it. Mainly because it would be amazing if Deadman Wonderland had dubbed episodes ready this quickly, since FUNi just announced the license last summer at AX.

And the third slot is apparently Ghost in the Shell SAC. Which is surprising because they had it blank before. Maybe they had a third slot lined up for something that didn't go through in time?

Both shows are basically new to me, I didn't really give them a chance before (I only watched one episode of Deadman Wonderland, and I never bothered watching Casshern Sins when it was on FUNimation Channel). I'll be watching now, though, if they end up airing.

Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
