"Toonami" News & Discussion Thread

There's probably a lot who don't, but the man is helping keep Toonami alive. Without him, we're probably discussing ASA still, and only getting 1-2 new animes a year.

Actually, considering how lifeless ASA was before Toonami, we'd probably be discussing whether ASA would have a future at all after Bleach ended. It's likely all we'd have right now is Bleach.

I know some like Kim and Jason (two examples) 'like' anime, and unless they got replaced would we possibly see it go, and it's the only reason we still had it, even before Toonami's return. You make a point, though.

I liked those 1-2 new anime a year.

You know Lamba, you don't seem to like anything on the block currently. So why do you stick around? And I'm asking that straight.

To riff on shows. I can do it on /co/ or other sites, but I've been doing it on here for years before Toonami came back so it's mainly out of habit.

Jason DeMarco tweeted earlier that they're working on getting the full opening and ending themes for Space Dandy:

#toonami fans- don't get used to is running the full open for Bleach again. That was actually a glitch! We ARE working on showing...

...the full open and close for SPACE DANDY, however! Stay tuned!

That's cool. I'd be fine with just getting the full opening theme, but it's nice that they're trying to work on getting both.

I actullylike english ED of Space Dandy, it is a nice instrumental.

Looking at zap2it, they still list Samurai Jack for an early Sunday.& Monday 3:30am on Boomerang for the week it enters Toonami. Whether that changes or not, we'll find out.

Samurai Jack - Episode Guide, TV Times, Watch Online, News - Zap2it

If it for some reason stays on BOOM, then you have a virtual hour of Jack if you don't watch FMA:BH at 3:30. Of course, you'd have to watch the early Monday one for the proper BOOM rotation, but either way, that creates 3 airings a week. 4 if you have Toon West for the 7am airing Sunday morning. Of course, all times mentioned are EST.

Q&A this weekend, make sure to be aware of the time change.

Hey everybody! We hope you’re good. Just dropping you a line to let you know that even though Gill and Jason are in Hawaii working, that ain’t gonna stop the Toonami monthly Q&A train! They’ll be answering questions this Sunday, starting around 5pm e/t. So feel free to start submitting now! You may even get your question answered on TV next month. As always, please read our FAQ above before sending us any questions, so you don’t send us the sort of question we won’t or can’t answer (example: ‘when are you showing DBZ???’ etc).

As always, we look forward to your questions. See you soon!

Today marks the 25th Year Anniversary of when Pokémon Crystal was released in North America. To this day, the Johto Games remain my favorite games in the Pokémon Franchise.
Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
