Well, this is a surprise. I thought for sure they'd go for Attack on Titan. Whatever. I've been enjoying Soul Eater, so at least the replacement is upping the ante (considering the reactions I hear are generally superior) rather than taking a step backwards like how it allegedly was going from ThunderCats to Sword Art Online (I can't confirm since I haven't seen either, but that's the opinion here, so...).

Just announced: Black Lagoon will be joining Toonami on March 22nd, replacing Soul Eater.

Suh-WEET.

If you want a series with lots of action, lots of violence, and lots of action violence, look no further than Black Lagoon.

And for an extra bit of old school Toonami flavor, it's a series that was dubbed in Canada.

Wow. Never thought they would get the guts to run this.

However . . . what are they going to do about all of the f-bombs in the show? There is going to be a LOT of bleeps unless while Ocean was recording Roberta's Blood Trail FUNi had the foresight to have all of the f-bomb dialogue re-recorded.

That's what I'm thinking. Attack on Titan will probably be Space Dandy's replacement if they go for it.

In a way, Black Lagoon is basically the Cowboy Bebop replacement until they get the rights to CB back. A lot of the same themes and motifs pop up in BL.

1. Are they going to air Roberta's Blood Trail too?

2. I pretty much gave up hope that BL was ever gonna show up after Newtown over what happens in the Hansel and Gretel arc. Are they going to skip that?

1. Maybe, but probably not. The OVA is like the TV series turned up to 11.

2. Last week they aired an SAO episode that had the closest thing I've seen to tentacle porn. I'd say anything goes now.

No way they would be able to air Roberta's Blood Trail weekly without having to cut stuff for time from the episodes themselves. One suggestion I've heard is airing all of Roberta's Blood Trail as a TV movie/marathon.

When FCLU completes its second run, I tell you the show that should replace it since is has the same type of humor of parody stuff.

Good Luck Girl!, I have seen it, it is hillarous, any true anime fan that don't take it too seriously should watch it.

Anywho, never seen the show myself, but based on what little I've heard and your guys' reactions, well...I guess I can expect good things. I've heard it's pretty brutal though, which isn't always my cup of tea, but I'll wait and see for myself.

Well, I guess it'll be less censored then it would've been six months ago because they can drop the s-bomb now, but there's like 200+ f-bombs in the first season.

I'm guessing Blue Exorcist is going to premiere in February after all. That or we might have something else on the way that month.

I would have preferred a newer show, like Psycho-Pass, but Black Lagoon is one of my favorite anime so I'm ecstatic to see it air. I think they could air Blood Trail if they gave each ep a 45 minute timeslot and aired a 15 minute show/thing right after it (it would only need to be for 5 weeks anyway). Even if they don't air that, it'll still be nice to see the series get exposure like this. This is probably my third favorite acquisition they've made so far after One Piece and Space Dandy (with the latter more for what it represents than the show itself, which I'm enjoying but has yet to enamor me). I hope we get more good ones this year as well (Magi or Fate/Zero for the next Aniplex acquisition, please). I hope it airs in the 1am hour so Toonami can call it the "pirate hour".

Though Titan is inevitable, imo. I fully expect it to take 11:30 when Space Dandy ends and would be surprised if it didn't.
