Breaking: All-New Samurai Jack Coming in 2017

My one question is who will voice Aku?

My only demand is get your ending ready. We need a conclusion to this story that we've been deprives of for TWELVE YEARS.

I kind of want them to try and get someone that can do an original take. I know Greg Baldwin did Aku before, but both that and Iroh (the latter being even weaker than the former) had him focusing on the voice itself and it really makes his performance pretty flat. It could be different for this though. Who knows? Whoever does it, I hope it turns out awesome.

Though, if its someone with a new take that they're picking, I hope it's Mark Hamill (or at least someone that can do a performance that's not so restricted on keeping the voice).

WOOOOOOOOOOW/WOOOOOHOOOO, what awesome incredible surprising news for an All-New Samurai Jack Revival returning, YEEEESSS:eek::eek::D:D, cool that it bees on Adult Swim's Revived Toonami, it's still my top favorite awesome action cartoon ever, finally a conclusion which they'll have Samurai Jack and Aku's final showdown along with Jack to head home, yaaaaaaay, more of Aku's enjoyable evilness/sadism on attacking Samurai Jack, but he'll fight more crazy bounty hunters after Jack which those fights were epic and a blast.I hope to see The Scotsman, the blue bear creature, and Da Samurai return as much as they were awesome likable characters.Samurai Jack's new armor is awesome.Genndy back to be involved on the action show is awesome.Greg Baldwin to play Aku, sweet, as much as Mako will be missed.A SwatKats reboot coming as well, nice, I'm not a huge SwatKats fan, but I'm curious to still see it though.

Next to the upcoming DuckTales, Bunnicula, David the Gnome, SwatKats, The Powerpuff Girls, and Samurai Jack reboot Revivals I'll see, I hope for Sym-Bionic Titan, ThunderCats 2011, and Young Justice to return as well in the future.

Unfortunately, those last three you mentioned were used as tax write-offs.

And where did you hear about a Courage reboot?

When did we get a SWAT Kats reboot?

Oh hey, a show that actually needed a revival, sweet.

I should rewatch the series at some point.

You know, I am one of the people who is glad that samurai jack is revived with a new season and with its original creator Genndy Tartakovsky being in charge of the production not unlike the PPG reboot without the ‘creator’ part and the best part is that The series protagonist Jack will not only have a new armor as seen in the promo but it will resolve loose plots especially if we are going to see the final battle between Jack and Aku and to know if Jack will go back to the past or not. Let’s hope for me that it will be just a miniseries just to resolve loose plots.

But you know there is something in the revival that bothers me with that revived series airing on toonami on Adult swim, It made me wonder that the revived series will be aimed for older fans which means that the violence will be more grittier and bloodier I mean I understand that violence in the fighting sequence has been like that in the samurai Jack series but airing it on toonami on Adult swim that means it could be a problem.

I mean remember Ren and Stimpy adult party cartoon which was intended to be a revival of the old nickelodeon series by the original creator himself and is aimed for older ren and stimpy fans who are adults and aired on Spike well things don’t end well for both old and new fans alike because the gross humor is maximized to the extreme that people who watched it got puked all over it. And fans old and new don’t like it as well because it doesn’t have the familiarity the original nickelodeon incarnation has especially the reviewers who hate it. So it makes me worried that with the samurai jack series airing on toonami on Adult swim, it makes me think that the revival will add more violence with adult things, it will probably not have the familiarity the original one has and it will end up with the similar problems that the Ren and stimpy adult party cartoon has.

That is something in the samurai jack revival that bothers me.

extremely long post

You don't need to worry about that. Genndy T. doesn't have the same kind of self-esteem as John K. The Samurai Jack reboot is in good hands.

Yeah, while there will probably be some violence I doubt that Genndy will let his show drop to the level of shows like mr. Pickles and South Park.

He's not THAT stupid. ;) Even when he's at his lowest, he actually still has some sense of talent within him.

That's what i am worried about

You might have a good point there,Let's hope the revived series still has the spirit of the original despite that it's aimed for older audience and the violence increased.

Genndy knows well of Samurai Jack's fanbase. He's not going to make the new season extreme to the point of alienating its fanbae and just plain pandering to the adult audience.

This is some of the best news I've heard in a while. A Samurai Jack revival is something I never saw happening in the recent future, but here it is, less than a year away from television. The fact that it's going to be airing on Adult Swim (on Toonami, no less) is news just as great. Toonami has been severely lacking in the American action department since the end of 2014, so it's great to see a brand new show airing world premieres on Toonami again. Even better is that it sounds like Adult Swim is fronting the money rather than Toonami using it's budget, meaning we still get some big things besides this in 2015. All around great news, and the hype is real.

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
