MeTV Toons - Network TALKBACK & Discussion Thread

Those are actually links if you click on them. They go to MeTV Toons Wiki, which I would not consider a reliable source considering anyone can edit it.
Ah, the color of the links was similar to the color of the plain text, so I didn't notice. And yeah, I wouldn't really rely on that either.

Here in Portugal Mighty Mightor was popular in the 80s when there was a TV monopoly here.

For the new schedule, I'm looking forward to seeing Taz-Mania and Hair Bear Bunch again.

Right, I was going to say that a fan wiki is not a reliable source, but we just got official confirmation that these are airing anyway, so alright.

These are some nice additions, but the only one that seems particularly exciting is Taz-Mania, a welcome piece of Warner’s silver age. Krypto I get the feeling is being added to increase the channel’s E/I quota, which is fine by me even if I have minimal interest. And it’s nice to see some more HB shows even if I wouldn’t call any of them great. I’m a little disappointed that we’re only getting the 80s Space Ghost and Herculoids for now though, but if it means it’s a matter of when and not if for the originals, I’ll take it.

With them adding "Moby Dick and Mighty Mightor" it's nice they are caring about random Hanna-Barbera shows that didn't have big runs and probably run in a long time still, that was the one thing that bugged me when the House of Hanna-Barbera came in that they cut a slot that was used for those weirder/rarer shows.

I think the only way rocky & Bullwinkle reruns would come back is if they teamed with another synication company now that wildbrain no longer has the rights to it (I thinking trifecta entertainment would make sense)

Rights from the estate seem to be costly. I wish NBCU renegotiated with them

The Q1 schedule is now out: https://cdn.metvtoons.com/Tqar6-1768943730-MeTV Toons Sch 1Q26 Eff. 2-2-26 E-P R2 (1).pdf

Where's Huddle's? is leaving the network completely. Mighty Mouse and Friends will be cut back to one hour (the second hour will be replaced by Speed Buggy and Hair Bear Bunch), Linus moves to midnight, and Totally Tuned In will resume airing at 12:30 AM.
These are some solid changes, though I don't like the fact that Totally Tooned In will now be airing for three hours straight on Sunday. They could've replaced Huddles with another show.

I was at my parents house today and saw that MeTV Toons was running on Eastern time (I live on the west coast), so Sunday All Stars was on at dinner time. They have Xfinity. It seems to be running on time shifted schedule over the antenna at my place.

Must be a Weigel issue.

They have West feeds for OTA signals but on pay-TV providers it's defaulted to the East feed.

Meaning that if you are in, say, LA, and want to watch Underdog, on OTA it's OK, but on pay-TV you have to wake up even earlier.

It is not on Weigel but it is pay TV opt to receive east feed.

As for Los Angeles, they are Charter Spectrum territory, formerly Time Warner, they apparently receive retransmission version of OTA Station (KSFV-CD), not national feed like seen on cable.

So it seems cable companies outside the ones that relay it from an OTA source are all defaulted to East.

The cable companies choose to carry east feed, west feed or both, but they often default to east feed for channels that seen as not major as main cable channel like TBS, TNT and CN/AS.

Some streaming linear services like Frndly and Philo only use east feed, so in Las Vegas, you have to wake up early or use record the show. Frndly said that they did on purpose.

Worse in Hawaii though. They don't timeshift anymore.

Cord Cutters News comments went into crisis mode about whether Looney Tunes get removed from MeTV Toons and Tubi, so I was like WHAT??? at those comments. I'm seriously doubt that MeTV Toons would lose the Looney Tunes, so TCM is just supplemental for cable subscribers who don't have MeTV Toons or Boomerang.

Edit: It is not exclusive deal at all.

Yeah, I can imagine for sure.

Oh great another gap in the schedules. And one of the mainline hits – it's like the network's MASH and Everybody Loves Raymond.

It's no different from Boomerang or Discovery Family airing them. MeTV Toons has them for the long hault.

Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
