For those of you who have kept up with all the incarnations, which ones do you think are worth going back to? I tried watching some of the Johto stuff while i was playing Soul Silver, but found them unwatchable. But I am finding this series to be good. Is anything else as good as this one?

Geoff Johns is the CCO of DC Entertainment, so yeah the Origin story was definitely written that way. Johns can write much better stories, but he seemed to consciously write this one to be shallow like Whedon's Avengers.
