I heard really good things about this show, but it's not doing anything for me. The characters are way too cardboard cutout "yeah look we're so tough," and it doesn't even have all that much action compared to what you would expect, it's mostly just shoot-outs. This is like Bebop without...
^Yeah that's the exact reaction I had to the original comic that was published.
The Elite are basically a straw man version of the Wildstorm comic Authority, where the had no qualms about killing and taking down evil institutions.
Yeah both of those problems are in the comic, I'm disappointed they didn't bother trying to fix them here. It's also weird that Geoff Johns wrote Hal Jordan as clever and smart in the GL book, but an idiot in the JL book.
I think Tim is kind of hard to find a really interesting story for. Dick was the first Robin and the one who best contrasts Bruce with his jovial attitude, Jason was the most tragic Robin, and Damian had this whole story to introduce him being Batman's biological son. Tim is just kind of...
Season 2 of Young Justice wasn't watchable for me period. Love the first season, but by the next one the whole thing about villains caching "Yeah that was ALLL part of the plan" just got old fast. And the pacing was never anywhere as good as JL/JLU.
Set-up wise, YJ was basically perfect, it...
Yeah Deathstroke was a real chump here.
Not a terrible movie, but pretty disappointing. WB Animation seems to be on a streak of disappointing movies right now.
I stopped watching GL after Kamina died. Not because I was that attached to his character, but more because I quickly realized the show was going to do the whole trite routine of the reluctant hero forced to step up and become confident, and well, I've seen that story a billion times. Don't...
Haven't seen the film, but in the comic he didn't meet his mother until he was eight or something. So meeting his dad was just phase two, not the typical "where were you" kind of deal. Damian doesn't respect anyone for the most part, but his father is the exception, he really wants his...
Oh man looks like the end of this arc is finally around the corner. Looks like I'll be watching again, though I may have to go back to the beginning since it's been so long.
Cool, thanks.
Real bummer to hear about B/W...that one has an awesome story in the games, and N might be my favorite character of the whole franchise. I also loved this trailer for B2/W2.
Anyway I'll def check out Diamond and Pearl.

For those of you who have kept up with all the incarnations, which ones do you think are worth going back to? I tried watching some of the Johto stuff while i was playing Soul Silver, but found them unwatchable. But I am finding this series to be good. Is anything else as good as this one?
Yeah the Mega Evolution is why I want to see that. And you get to choose a Kanto starter in the X/Y games, so all the more it would make sense.
Tbh, Team Rocket is kind of ruining this for me. They're not inherently bad characters, but I don't understand why the writers feel the need for...
Is this any good?
I've rediscovered my love for Pokemon the last couple weeks or so because of Soul Silver and X&Y on the 3DS, but idk about the anime.
Geoff Johns is the CCO of DC Entertainment, so yeah the Origin story was definitely written that way. Johns can write much better stories, but he seemed to consciously write this one to be shallow like Whedon's Avengers.
Hal isn't known to be "the artist" like Kyle, but he's always had creative constructs. The idea that Kyle was more creative is more revisionist history.
Hmm, don't agree here either, Hal is basically the superhero version of Maverick from top gun. The wise-ass jokes is his thing. Kyle...
Unless it's so bad it sticks out like a sore thumb, I just can't get hung up on animation "quality." Space Dandy has really stellar animation, but it's garbage on every other level.
I love Anarky, but this version didn't do anything for me. They were clearly going after the Sherlock Moriarty that I think it would have been more natural to use Riddler instead. And I get why they're not using Riddler or any "iconic" Bat-villains, but I'm just saying this Anarky feels like...
I don't have time to watch the whole thing yet, but 5 minutes in, yeah this is basically Avengers Assemble done right. Justice League War is more to my taste than this, just because of my age, but I can appreciate this.
Kind of getting into circular logic now.
If you're saying Batman has more films because creators are more drawn to him, then yeah no argument there. But the "he has more critically acclaimed stories" is kind of irrelevant then.
Jeph Loeb is a very critically panned writer among the comic book reading fanbase.
I'm saying I don't think "quantity of critically acclaimed stories" has anything to do with Batman getting more films, or else those stories you are citing as critically acclaimed would be the ones getting the...
