If anyone's a fan of the 1983 series of Alvin and the Chipmunks, I'm currently working on a project.
When the show was syndicated, it was actually sped-up for time, in order to cram more ads in. The sped-up syndicated version is about a minute shorter than the episodes' actual runtimes, without adjustments. This means at least 1-4 ads could be crammed in during that time period. Cartoon Network completely got rid of the show's "we'll be right back" bumpers and title cards, so that meant more time for ads. I'm bringing this up because the show was also sped-up to PAL audio, which ruined the pitch of most episodes.
I've been working to correct the speed and pitch of every episode in that syndication package (about 63 episodes). I'm not doing the specials because those are available on DVD (and online) in way better quality. And I don't plan to do seasons 6B, 7 or 8, either, even though I know NBC sped up a few eps in season 7.
The project's up on my Archive, if anyone wants to look at it and tell me their thoughts. I think the first 5 seasons of the show (the Ruby-Spears episodes) are absolutely great, with good music and songs. After that, the show kinda falls off a little, but it's still enjoyable.
Due to music rights, a lot of episodes aren't available on DVD. There are a handful of them that are, but nobody's bothered to rip them (especially the ones from The ALVINNN!!! Edition DVD).
SO yeah, if anyone wants to check out the project, it's on my Archive. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to share it here, due to the rules, but if I am, I'll edit it and paste the link here. But for now, just PM me if you want to see it. You can also easily search for it.
I'm working on sharing my files around so we can use this version of the show, and not the one that's sped up. Also, I'm planning on updating the project about every week until I reach the stopping point.
