Broadcast Order: Season 10, Episode 8
Production Order: Season 7, Episode 19

Writer: Murray Miller & Judith Miller
Directors: Josue Cervantes

A new episode airs tonight at 9:30 PM Eastern. This episode was suppose to air last year, but was pulled at the last minute due to the Newtown school shootings. Here is the synopsis:

A notorious Christmas demon known as Minstrel Krampus kidnaps Steve, so Stan and Roger must travel to the North Pole to save him.

Man, Krampus' song was good. I'm watching this with my dad and he agrees. Glad my parents have DVR.

Oh, a second one! I'm just being spoiled right now.

I have never seen such brutal killing of household appliances and furniture before in my life.

What the-- even the wall is alive? What is this, The Amazing World of Gumball?

I actually look forward to the American Dad Christmas episodes. They've all been really great and this one did not disappoint.

I remember Krampus from the Venture Bros. Christmas episode as well.

And from Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated.

So...why was this pulled?

Great episode, another Smith family holiday classic. The AD Christmas episodes are by far the most consistently great holiday episodes of any show. I love any time we get to hear Scott Grimes and Rachael MacFarlane sing.

I loved the fact that the moral of the story is spank your kids when their bad

The Sandy Hook Shooting caused this to be pulled. I guess the brutal shooting of those living appliances and furniture would've caused some problems.

I'm aware that it was supposedly in response to Sandy Hook, I'm trying to figure out why or what connection they could have derived from an episode as silly as this. If your saying that even the most silly and fantastical violence such as seen in this episode was enough to be seen as "insensitive", there's probably a bunch of other shows that could have been pulled but weren't. Even the Family Guy episode that was initially pulled was just aired the next week, there's no reason they couldn't have done that with this episode. This kind of oversensitive media PC-ness, which is always drenched in hypocrisy, is incredibly annoying. I wouldn't normally be that upset since we did eventually get to see the episode, but it ended up screwing us out of a seventh American Dad Christmas episode, and as I already said the AD Christmas episodes are just about the best holiday specials aired each year.

so, will this stick as the new status-quo?

You mean in the AD universe? The Christmas specials are never canon, except for other Christmas specials.

which is what I meant

Grandpa showing-up as the Krampus for the next year

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
