Now that Ice Age: Collision Course has come and gone like a dwindling meteorite (with the lousy US box office performance to prove it), Blue Sky has released the trailer for their next upcoming movie:

Honestly I'm surprised by how charming this looks. There's no cringy one liners or butt jokes. Even the celebrity casting doesn't feel too in-your-face. John Cena sounds like a gimmicky choice, but he doesn't feel out of place here at all. I also really dig how stylized the character design for Ferdinand is; too bad all of the humans look like extras from Rio.

So far this looks like it'll be a cute movie. That said, I think releasing it on the same day as Episode VIII of Star Wars is suicide. Didn't exactly work when the best Disney had to offer against the last Harry Potter movie was Winnie the Pooh. Only will time will tell, I guess.

Well after looking on the trailer, I'm unsure if I personally find it promising or has potential, this is looks interesting to something coming up to alleyway, but who knows.

When I first heard about the project, I really didn't expect much to come of it, so I was genuinely surprised at how much I liked the trailer. The movie genuinely looks charming and sweet, and I liked how the trailer relied very little on slapstick comedy and one-liners, like most animated trailers.

Weird that the movie is coming out the same day as Star Wars, but I hope the movie will find a way to garner a good-sized audience.

I think it looks like a pretty cute movie. I'm looking forward to it.

I don't think it would suffer the same fate as Winnie the Pooh, or at least not as hard. Ferdinand looks more "mainstream" and movies released around the holidays tend to have long legs.

Yeah, well, only time will tell whether this movie will be a "moo-ving" masterpiece, or a bunch of "bull-oney"...

Anyways, I saw the name and wondered. Then I scrolled down. I don't know what it was at first, but I do know it was previously adapted by Disney as a classic short. I believe it's about a kind hearted bull who didn't want to be in bullfights or do other things bulls usually do. [does google search] He just wanted to smell the flowers instead.

In any case, we'll see...

I'm not gonna lie, this looks legit adorable. I'm surprised that was John Cena voicing that sweet and gentle bull. I'm likely not going to watch it, but Ferdinand doesn't like a bad movie. I wish it the best of luck.

Considering how Blue Sky films tend to make a majority of its revenue overseas, the movie might not open the same day as Star Wars in other countries.

I wish they could've shifted the release date...now I'm conflicted...my Dad wants to see the new Star Wars, but I want to see this...

Well we can't see both movies when they release.

This may be crazy, but how about you see one movie one day, and you see the other movie on another day?

Or better yet, you go on the same day, but you and your Dad each go see different movies?

The former sounds good, but I haven't even shown the trailer of Ferdinand to my Dad yet...

Do you HAVE to see the movie with your dad?

It doesn't have to be my Dad. He can go to the Star Wars movie with me while i'll go see this movie with someone else. (sheesh, the NERVE of some people...)

Oh, I think it looks like it'll be a great MOO-vie.
THAT'S HOW IT'S DONE!!:p

A few months ago saw the second trailer release:

And just today, the third and presumably final one has been made (featuring John Cena talking about the movie):

I might have to retract what I said earlier. The teaser was nice and pleasant, but the following marketing makes it out to be awful. It just looks too obnoxious and irritating for my taste. Shame, as I had such high hopes before.

I still think it looks good. I think it's just bad marketing.

It's opening the same day as Star Wars. So either it's really low budget, or they think this movie will do better internationally, like Rio and the Ice Age.

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
