Breaking: All-New Samurai Jack Coming in 2017

“Adult Swim is excited to announce that JACK IS BACK. Creator and executive producer Genndy Tartakovsky continues the epic story of Samurai Jack with a new season of episodes that will premiere on Adult Swim’s Toonami block in 2016.”

The new season is currently in production in Los Angeles at Cartoon Network Studios.

I'll think of something fuller to say when I stop freaking out. Good lord. YES.

I'm super excited. Just when I was wondering if Toonami could give me a show that I would want. Than they go and do this.

This is probably the biggest news since the conclusion of Gravity Falls. I see why the comics stop and didn't made an ending for it.

Ok i know this is big but hopefully that Jack does well, not just a sign that something good is returning but a possibility that other shows cough Megas XLR cough return as well IF Samurai Jack does well.

Wow this is incredibly surprising considering how Adult Swim and Toonami haven't had the best track record of this sort of thing. I don't mean quality wise I mean show rating wise. Big O season 2 was co fianced by AS after the Toonami airings did so well but didn't do good enough ratings for more kind of projects, and Toonami's first original full on series IGPX was also sort of a flop with it's finale not even airing on the block. So them taking another crack at actually producing and putting money into another full on show is surprising enough. But Samurai Jack? There's been talk for... over a decade of Samurai Jack having a conclusion but never thought it'd be on Adult Swim. Though honestly I'm all for that as SJ is one of those shows that would do a letter better WITHOUT it's Y7 restrictions and just go full out. And with how barely edited the violence in a lot of AS shows is now, seeing SJ fully unrestricted would be an incredible treat. So yeah I'm pumped for seeing this and hearing more about it. I hope since Genndy is back he gets a bunch of his team back and of course gets Phil LaMarr back for Jack. I don't know who to get for Aku as yeah Greg Baldwin replaced Mako as Iroh in Avatar The Last Airbender but... I don't know if Greg Baldwin can do the overblown goofy/menacing tone of Aku but guess we'll see. Still can't wait for more on this and hope they don't "cheap out" on this as yeah SJ is most well known for it's style and animation so hope the quality is kept from the original series to this relaunch.

awesome, samurai jack is back and on adult swim! this is pretty much many peoples dream come true. tbh I'd rather have more sym bionic titan, which honestly I think is better then jack, but I understand that that seems to be legally impossible due to CN writing Sym off,

but hey, new jack and it's for adults now.

Just. WOW. I love this! -- definitely out of nowhere. I had been wondering the next time Toonami would play something not anime. Question answered and it's this beautiful show!

Now we can finally see Jack and Aku's final showdown.
I hope the reboot will be close to the original show and not be too violent and adult now that it's on Adult Swim.

CN's not getting back Megas XLR period since they completely wrote off that show. Also, they cannot air any new material of that series, meaning it would have to go to a different channel (like Disney XD or better yet Netflix)

@Neo Ultra Mike: Big O II actually broke even it's budget. It's just that CN/AS felt that it wasnt worth producing new material for that series
