C&C - Shin Chan [FIX, 4/23 - 4/26]

Did they just parody a Church just now?

Gotta love that cheesy super hero music that plays during the Action Bastard segments. Didn't notice that until now.

"What's hentai? It's like every other cartoon but a little different!"

"Do you have you're own room or do you just live in the wall eating rats and fiberglass?"

what did they bleep out?

FUNi actually mentioning Hentai...

There's something you don't see everyday.

Very enjoyable episode, each segment had plenty of funny moments. I liked the last one the most, though. I don't know if it was the sudden mention of hentai, the chaos of everyone invading the apartment, or just the dialouge (all, probably), but it was fun to watch.

My comments on the episode:

-Was correct in guessing two of the voice actresses taking part in the "Pussycat Dolls" parody (thank you, Kodocha). :anime:

-Funniest part of this episode: Action Bastard, specifically "My rod is so big, so long and so purple, there's nothing it can't do!" and "Getting the boy in trouble, yo!"

-Second funniest part: the "Hentai" doll.

Yep, Shin-chan is finally back to the humor that made the dub so great in the test run.

Only able to watch the episodes that get on the FIX for now, unfortunately...

Episode 9: At first it was because I missed the apartment explosion from Episode 8 that I really wasn't getting all of this. Then I realized that all of this slice-of-life stuff wasn't very funny. It wasn't all a lost cause, though... it was sweet watching Hiro remember the early, lovey-dovey days of his marriage with Mitzi. I also wonder... I know I didn't see said explosion, but I too was surprised how much stuff survived. Some funny moments: the fridge/pot/remote control exchange; Hiro & Shin's 'I Spy' game; Hima's sudden decision to start singing.

Favorite quotes:
- "It's smaller than a homeless person's!"
- "C'mon, Hima, things are about to get PG-13 in here."
- "Does that mean I have to suck on Dad's nipples?"

"Hiro of the Hunt / Movin' on Down / A Family That Sleeps Together...": 3/5.

Episode 10: Also started off slow, but picked up in the later segments as we meet the neighbors and Georgie becomes Shin's 'spin doctor.' Loved Hima getting comfortable on the new 'couch'; the too-lonely ronin; the landlady who loves stacking dentures.

Favorite quotes:
- "Yes, I'll pray for the monkey too."
- "I mean, if Martha can decorate Cell Block C..."
- "Please forgive my friend's terrible manners... his parents let him watch public television."
- "That's right... laugh to hide the tears. That's what I do."

"By Dawn's Early Fight / Bug Thy Neighbors / Spin Georgie": 4/5.

After a couple of so-so episodes, from what I caught during my break, this was a much funnier episode. I really think these rewrites are hilarious and definitely make this show much more "mainstream" in a very awkward and demented way. Good job FUNi/Adult Swim.

Really loved this episode. Yanro suddenly invading the family at random times leads to a lot of funny situation, plus all his nerd references and hitting on their cousin.

I was multi-tasking while watching this one and didn't devote my full attention to it but it didn't seem nearly as funny or entertaining as the last few have been. Except for the Action Bastard segment. I love that guy.

Yeah, it was "half-tard" specifically. It must have been a last minute bleep since it was still on the CC. I don't get what CN's S&P was thinking. Is there a quota on bleeps?

Which is weird because they said it unbleeped last night...unless it the other use that was bleeped had the f-word in front of it.

Yeah, it could have been f-tard.

The CC said "half-tard". Maybe they thought it was sounding too close to saying "Eff-tard" with the man-lady's funny voice?

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
