After Bart gets out of a commitment to join the Army at 18, Homer falls prey to a couple of Army recruiters and lands himself in basic training. Homer, of course, treats this like summer camp and infuriates his hard-nosed colonel (Kiefer Sutherland) when he is unfazed by the constant hazing and humiliation. Homer is assigned as the enemy of the Armys war games, but when the war games get out of hand and Springfield becomes the battlefield, Homer and the Springfield community must join forces before the city goes up in smoke.

"We're China, right?" In light of a story I just saw on Anderson Cooper, this episode just might generate a letter or 2. Lisa in PETA....who didn't see that one coming?

Even though the military stuff has been done to death, some funny lines have kept this one watchable.

"Do you know some cool kids we can show this movie to?"
Milhouse - "Dearborn, Michigan?"

" Toy Soilders" ,love the names

yeah congress

I was really expecting this to go into a "Homer in Iraq" direction, but this is a bit tamer, but could be a lot more interesting.

That trailer for the Simpsons Movie was horrible... :/

I liked this episode a lot, the 'political' humor was a lot better than most American Dad episodes IMO, it was entertaining. though the ending was kind of weak.

The cartoony/slapstick in the episode was done well and made sense, i have nothing against it however on the trailer it was just lame, and doesn't really show how the show is.

I always defend the cartoony/slapstick on the show but on the trailer it made no sense..

I now they're doing a classic cartoon homage?

South Park did this better more than four years ago, guys.

This episode has just gotten goofy. The bad kind of goofy.

The "annoyed grunt" part of the ep's title is so right.

Ah the eyes darting back and forth gag...

Family Guy did that first, too.

Lisa is so liberal. Ha Ha! It's so funny how liberal she is.

The end credits with Sarge naming off everyone with "frontline infantry" was pretty funny. Especially when Danny Elfman's name comes up and he's like, "Lord..." XD

...You're joking right?

And that classic cartoon slapstick stuff went on for way too long.

Keifer Sutherland was a good guest voice though. Can't wait to hear him again in May.

Not at all. It was done a little differently, but I was immediately reminded of Family Guy the instant they did it. Plus the joke itself went on way too long.

I thought when Homer dressed up as the female camera-helicopter it was kinda funny. :P

Though it did go on for a bit too long.

They really didn't go anywhere with it. At least when South Park did it they really went the whole nine yards with the idea.

As someone who's Portuguese, it just bugs me again that we lost. I wanted Portugal to win this time because this is Ronaldo's last, but no, we think Ronaldo has devolved significantly, and we lost against Spain.
Fowler's Sonic the Hedgehog > Bay's  Transformers. There, I said it.
