I'm continuing to have suspicions about whoever's translating these episode titles...

Anyway, it seems princesses are all the rage on Toonami tonight.

Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon
Episode 7
"Meeting Through an Apple"

Towa and Setsuna spend the night at Kaede's house after slaying demons with Kohaku's group, then go their separate ways in the morning.

OP: "NEW ERA" by SixTONES / ED: "Break" by Uru

NOTE: Yashahime will air at 1:30 a.m. ET due to tonight's double premiere of Fena: Pirate Princess.

Real princesses don't post spoilers.

Previously on Yashahime: The cat's in the cradle and everywhere else.

Attack of the Deadly Cow Spider.

Last time: Cat scratch fever.

Giant boomerangs are still cool.

Weird title for the third straight week.

He can't remember all of his underlings.

She's pretty good at playing an instrument that won't be invented for another few centuries.

A pirate? Hey, you sure you're not supposed to be on another show on this block?

Another pirate washed ashore tonight?

You're a bit late to the pirate party, aren't you? Fena ended half an hour ago.

Towa: Samurai Princess.

Puky? That doesn't sound appetizing.

So he's a Japanese pirate Robin Hood.

I would not eat anything called "Puky".

Oh, so he's a jerk after all.

Never trust a pirate unless he wears a straw hat, or is a woman.

"Well, I'm no princess..."
Well, SOMEBODY'S gotta be Yashahime.

"Puky." Sounds delicious.

"A taste like this would surely banish you from paradise!"
Well, she didn't get it from a snake, so I think you're good.

I hope snakes don't pop out of that thing.

Well, we know who you are. The patsy.

Hey...we just wrapped around to the first episode, didn't we?

"I am Lord Name-That-Is-Impossible-to-Remember."

Wait, isn't this the scene from episode one?

You seriously didn't think you were the first, did you?

Uhh...we already saw this, can we go?

"I am going to fetch the dog that strayed from the pack!"
SO YOU'RE JUST GOING TO LEAVE TOWA TO ROT--oh wait, that's who you were talking about.

Are you this show's Kagura?

A polar bear? Pretty sure those aren't native to Japan.

This is like Lost, only somehow even crazier.

The Nelvana logo's gone mad!

It comes from the land of the ice and snow, from the midnight sun where the hot springs flow.

Don't polar bears have enough on their plate without their habitat succumbing to climate change?

No polar bears were harmed in the making of this episode.

We're not going to sit through the last five episodes all over again, are we?

Hey four eyes!

Well, glad we have that lingering subplot resolved.

Wouldn't want to mess up history, would we?

I thought that this episode was pretty good. Towa being upset over Setsuna leaving her behind was understandable. She wanted to reconnect with her sister, so feeling like a burden would just make her more upset. The dream where they were seemingly at a mall together was a bit odd though. Her meeting with Riku was interesting. He seemed charming at first, but then just set her up to take the fall for his own crime.

I actually forgot about the first episode's setup with Towa being held captive and told about what happened in the past. It really made the decision to start out the series like that even weirder in retrospect. I still assume that there's more of a point to it than just the nostalgia factor due to how the demon from the flashback is still around, but that might be assuming too much. Towa's concern over messing up history also feels kind of weird. It's understandable why she'd be worried about messing up the timeline, but it just feels kind of moot when her aunt is a woman from the future who had a child with Inuyasha. Not to mention her own presence in the past when she was effectively raised as a girl in modern era Japan would naturally change the flow of history too. Overall, it was a pretty good episode.

Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
