Cartoon Cartoons Shorts Program

I get the feeling that the Cartoon Cartoons are just an excuse to air the remaining ungreenlit pilots from 2020.

I'm so glad that the new Cartoon Cartoons are now finally getting released after years of sat on them for so long.

However, some of the shorts that I've seen so far, weren't really my cup of tea. I don't know. Maybe because I'm burned out of the same style and aesthetics that CN used since the 2010s, and other indie studios put out much better pilots that I just don't care.

Do I think any one of those shorts will become a series one day? You'll never know, but this is something I'm not into anymore.

I've moved on from Cartoon Network, and animation in general, so the new Cartoon Cartoons shorts is not something I could get into.

It turned out that JJ Villard, the one who created Scaredy Cat for Cartoon Cartoons, violated his contract with CN when he tried to sell his short to Nick, costing his relationship with CN. And to think that I used to defend Villard, too! :(

I was worried for this shorts program. A for Angel was a great start, but the next few weeks just weren't very memorable, and I was concerned that they shoved their best short at the front of the line and the rest of the shorts would be mediocre. Thankfully, Buttons' Gamezone turned out to be another great short.

They couldn't have shoved the best short up front because the release schedule is in alphabetical order.

New short is out:

I had a stupid grin on my face the whole time watching. Despite growing up well after their hey-day, I have a soft spot for janky Chuck E. Cheese parodies, and this did not disappoint!

Now that you mentioned it, I didn't even notice until now. Thanks!

I enjoyed this one, it really does feel like a segment from Uncle Grandpa, and funnily enough Pete Browngardt was involved here

I just saw A for Angel and Accordions Geoffrey & Mary Melodica. These two had some of the most creative animation I have ever seen.

Do you think that our reception for the shorts will convince CN to greenlight them?
That’d be up to Warner Bros., given the upcoming spinoff of the cable assets.

And knowing Warner Bros. and the state of Cartoon Network, it's very unlikely any of these shorts will be made into full fledged shows.

I find it unlikely that they would invest all that money just to not greenlight any of them.

This entire project was from the WarnerMedia era, and the people who commissioned the shorts are long gone. It's something of a miracle that these shorts are being posted.

Watched Toy Story 5 today. It felt like another awesome escapade for the characters, while also they taught an important lesson: it's ok to be different, especially if you still like to play with toys. Lily turned from an antagonist to a hero of the movie, because of realising exactly that.

Going offline until further notice. David Ellison has won. I’m seeking therapy permanently rather than quitting life. Take care everyone. Once I leave the world into the void, I hope my life is better.
