Closed radio stations you miss

This might also be premature but 94.1 The Sound (Seattle) is now gone. It’s been replaced by a station called Emma. The Sound was more like soft AC (like the kind of stuff you could easily play in the background at a dentist office) while Emma is hot AC (with a lot of rap, hip hop, and R&B). The good news for me personally is that Emma is listenable enough for me. Although I’m usually not a big fan of rap, a few throwbacks can give me nostalgia. It also seems comparable to Star 101.5 that left earlier this year. The bad news is The Sound had a gentle atmosphere that Warm 106.9 had like 15 years ago. You just don’t see that anymore.

Oh my, yeah listened to 94.1 the Sound, so it's a shame it's gone. There are still stations with that format, so I'm glad I had more in my pile like 98.1 the Breeze in San Francisco, WLIT-FM in Chicago etc. I miss the Sound jingle though.

Not really a radio station, but I miss a UK radio show called the Paul Miller Show, been a year since it was force ended due to BBC Local Radio cuts, I listened to it online for over 10 years, it was such a gentle and fun show and with a great host and great music (until the BBC Local Radio playlist got standardized, it had way better music before that).

There has been another casualty in the Seattle area: Mix 96.1. It was an adult contemporary station but it closed and became a Spanish language station.

I definitely miss listening to Dream 100. It was a local radio station in Essex dedicated to pop music and broadcasted on well, 100 FM. I remember the station every morning when my mum picks me up for school when I was a child and I also miss remembering the jingle as well. That all came to an end in September 2020 where it became a local affiliate of Greatest Hits, but still has some of the local shows on there. Another thing about the station is I remember those local ads tailored towards Essex.
