DBZ Kai and New Voltron Headed to Nicktoons

Pretty much the same thing I thought about Naruto Shippuden on Disney XD: Did not see that coming, I won't be watching it (in this case I'll be buying the Blu-rays), hopefully the editing won't be too bad, and CN is proving more and more how much they suck.

Kai is going to be a make or break. It works, I'd bet the floodgates open on Nicktoons for FUNi. If Kai gets ratings, you can start moving other obvious titles (Sgt. Frog, One Piece and whatever can skate in,) but if it doesn't, I don't think there is a second chance.

A song by Hell Cat to mark this momentous occasion
"Ohhhhh...who lives in the mountains with his boy and his wife?"
"GOOD OL' SON GOKU!"
"Who's strong enough to wipe out all life?"
"GOOD OL' SON GOKU!"
"If you want Shenron to grant you your wish-"
"GOOD OL' SON GOKU!"
"Then get to moving and stop eating that dish!"

To be honest I'm all for this! Isn't it weird how CN just stopped showing DBZ 2 years ago and now the newest installment is on Nicktoons? lol. Hopefully it'll do good enough to get on regular Nick. I wouldn't be surprised if they premiered it on Nickelodeon like with Speed Racer and Wolverine. This could be the start of a new relationship with FUNI and Nick. Anyway I'm glad to see this happen.

Ha, yeah, this could definitely be SLAM! pt.2: we still don't really know how to make action work.

ouch, lol. But yeah, I remember that. :p

I've been wondering if they still have Speed Racer X and MIB: TAS. Probably not but if they did then they have even more content for an action block or even converting Nicktoons into an action centric network.

(Holy crap, this is my 1st ever post in the Anime thread, here's to many more!:anime:) I could definitly see Nicktoons make a Action Block out of all the stuff they have.(Wooo! I got DirceTV, so I get to see DBZ:K!)
I call it "Nicktion" (Nicktion=Friction wordplay)
6:00 Avatar: The Legend of Aang(This name sounds better to me)
6:30 Danny Phantom
7:00 Wolverine & The X-Men
7:30 Iron Man: Armored Adventures
8:00 Fantastic 4: World's Greatest Heroes
8:30 TMNT 2K3
9:00 DragonBallZ:Kai
9:30 Voltron
If all goes well, I could see this as the 2nd coming of Toonami:D

Action block sure but it's even possible for them to make Nicktoons an action centric network. Much like DXD. Or all the more likely Nick focuses even more on being for girls and Nicktoons gets more focus for the boys making the parallels more than a little obvious.

Definitely did NOT see that coming. I'm both shocked and intrigued by this development.

Though the question remains: How will Nick handle an anime of this calibur?

DBZ Kai is relatively tame compared to the original and the likes of Naruto Shippuden. It might be able to pass with Y7 rating with some edits like the original did. I mean edited DBZ is nothing new but they seem to allow the ultra-violence on the grounds that it's so unbelievable.

I'm sure DBZ Kai will be fine on Nicktoons. Dunno about other PG level anime however.

I'm in doubts DBKai will get a TV-PG rating. Maybe TV-Y7 FV, but thats it.

Well, I sure am glad I have Nicktoons.

It kinda is already.

Wolverine and the X-Men
Iron Man: Armored Adventures
Fantastic Four: World's Greatest Heroes
Speed Racer: The Next Generation
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Danny Phantom
El Tigre: The Adventures of Manny Rivera
My Life as a Teenage Robot

And now
Dragonball Z Kai
Voltron
TMNT

Don't they also air The Troop? So, if Nicktoons isn't an action channel yet then what else does it need to become one? Getting rid of all the comedy shows? Not even Disney XD is doing that. Even CN had comedy shows in its heyday. Still does.

Does Speed Racer even come on anymore? Anyways, I haven't seen Dragon Ball Kai so watching that and Voltron will be on my "To Do" List.

They already have an action block: It's called "Lazer Awesome". It's just not very compelling. It's not SLAM bad, but I wouldn't be against something better.

How come I haven't heard of it? Everytime they air their promos for the action shows they never say something like "Catch it right here on Lazer Awesome!"

You've never seen commercials for "Lazer Awesome"? I don't know if they do them now, but months ago, when Avatar had just ended, and Iron Man and Wolverine were about to premier, they were all over the network.

Suffice to say, watching the hot dog jump the pot gets a little old after a while. Doesn't grate on me like SLAM's packaging did, though.

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
@Sam the Cartoonist is right, I've registered on this site two times and I've enjoyed it! :) I'd posted this back in 2016, over ten years ago!
