It wasn't really an ending, per se. When we had last seen Amora in the Beta Ray Bill episode, she appeared to be an unwilling slave of Surtur with no control over herself, asking for help in her one free moment. It kind of added to the mystery of what's going on with Surtur, what's he plotting and how will the heroes deal with that. We even see a callback to it when Thor is telling Skurge that he will help him free Amora in Assault in 42. When Amora shows up next in Powerless, it's as though the Surtur threat was swept under the rug and she's reveling in her current state. She even seems to have enough freedom to go and do as she pleases when we see her going to the imprisoned Loki and giving him the power over the Destroyer. That episode just feels like nothing that was built up with Surtur was that serious to begin with.
