I've always been a huge fan of Cartoon Network from since i can remember. The old Toonami broadcasts and old Adult Swim. All the old Cartoon Cartoons! Goodness! i'm drooling just thinking about all the fantastic stuff they used to air.
But out of all the great things Cartoon Network once had on their network..my favorite thing of all was Cartoon Cartoon Fridays.
I used to love to stay up late and stay in alone and watch CCF all night. It used to be my favorite thing on TV. The best reason to stay in Friday nights.
My only regret is that i never knew how to work my VCR as a younger lad and i never could record full broadcast nights of CCF. So now i'm left desperately seeking and wanting to revisit my past. Trying everything i can to dive back into my childhood and re-live:( but it's so hard to find anyone out there who recorded broadcasts and are willing to sell or trade copies of them.

Does anyone remember all the Cartoon Cartoons that hosted?
A friend of mine told me he remembered Robot Jones hosting once..but only once. And i can't recall or decipher if he is telling the truth. It would be really awesome if it were true:) I'd love to find proof of such an episode taking place.
I know Dexter, I.R. Baboon, Bubbles, Mojo Jo Jo, Eustice, Eddy and Ed, Double D, Time Squad, Sheep (once), Johnny Bravo, the Mayor and Miss Bellum.
Anyone know any other hosts?! These are the only ones i could remember off the top of my head.

I wish i had a complete collection of tapes that i could run through every week and choose a different host for each friday. That would be super sweet! I'd pretend i was in the late 90's early 20th century again haha Dexter hosting one week, Time Squad the next, then I.R. Baboon, and Robot Jones if i can find it. And maybe Sheep. Oh i'd go insane with power if i had them all haha

How about everyone else out there? Anyone remember CCF or revisit old tapes to get filled up with nostalgia?

Sure do. I actually stumbled upon some tapes that randomly had CCF and CNF on there. If CN was to get smarter, like they are getting now, they should reboot CCF or CNF with the new episodes/seasons/shows that are coming up.

Well of course I do! I used to watch Cartoon Cartoon Fridays before Cartoon Network started to suck.

I watched Ed Edd N Eddy & Courage the Cowardly Dog. ;)

Yeah. This is one things that made Cartoon Network so epic back then. I also remember Cartoon Cartoon Weekend. On the promos, instead of the Fridays Disk, it was a Weekends disk. I hope somebody uploads that soon.

I think you'd be hard-pressed to find someone who's forgotten CCF on this forum. I know my fondest memories of CN old are of CCF, and it certainly was a great part of my childhood. I'm sure I have some of them on tape but it will be rather time-consuming to check through all the old tapes I've got. I should get around to that this summer!

How can we not remember CCF? It was one of the best things of my early adolescent life. I loved the characters as hosts.

Yeah, I remember Cartoon Cartoon Fridays.

I remember how I would watch The Powerpuff Girls, and later Johnny Bravo, when my family and I went to have dinner at my grandparents' house on Friday nights, during the late 90's and early 2000's.

I also thought that having a different host each week made things pretty cool.

I'd watch it all the time when I was younger. It was a pretty fun and creative block now that I'm thinking back. Having the cartoons host was a pretty good idea...

I remember CCF, it was my second favorite block on Cartoon Network behind Toonami. I also loved how they had a host from a different Cartoon Cartoon every week, and then you also saw all the Cartoon Cartoons interacting with eachother in the background and eaverything, it made me feel like there was a party every week. Unfortunately I was kind of young and didn't know how to work my VCR too but luckily for me I have an older sister that recorded the first two hours of CCF from one night in November 2000.

BTW, you said it's hard to find anyone willing to sell or trade copies of recorded broadcasts, well as a matter of fact I have a hobby of collecting recordings of this kind of stuff and I do trades so I would be willing to trade with you if you wanted

Cartoon Cartoon Fridays was only 11 years ago, and since the minimum age requirement to be a member of this forum is 13, you'll find that nearly everyone here remembers CCF fondly.

True..but how many people still watch it from their own personal collection?
and have no need to travel back in their minds or grasp old YouTube promos to try and conjure up some magic from their childhood?

I didn't start watching CN regularly until a few years ago, so I only have memories of the Fridays block used from 2003(?) to very recently.

That's like asking me if I remember that water is wet. That was the thing to watch as a kid. Dexter's Laboratory, Johnny Bravo, Cow & Chicken, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Ed, Edd, n' Eddy, The Powerpuff Girls, Time Squad, Sheep in the Big City... heck, even Mike, Lu & Og, poor as it was. What's not to remember?

those where the good days. the new CN is slowly coming back to being good like the old days.

Cartoon Cartoon Fridays had a couple of my favorite cartoon shows: Ed, Edd n' Eddy and Johnny Bravo.

I barely remember it. Our family didn't get cable until 1998, so it wasn't too major a part of my childhood. But what I did see I enjoyed very much. The fact that it focussed on actual cartoon characters as the hosts was entertaining and fit in nicely with the concept of Cartoon Network (at least as the concept of it was back then).

Unless the network makes a monumental shift in philosophy on what makes a great cartoon network, I don't see CN ever returning to its Golden Age.

Who did not enjoy this block?

- Catroon cartoons!

Sure, I remember! I actually have a bunch of the old CCF's recorded on DVDs I burnt off of VHS recordings. That and toonami were some of the best parts of CN! Lots of great memories watching that stuff. Glad I was able to record a few of them.
