Back in August 2019, Hasbro announced their acquisition of Entertainment One, which lasted from December 30, 2019 through December 27, 2013, for four consecutive years, and costed Hasbro $4 billion! As it turned out, the acquisition was an ugly one.
In my opinion, if the acquisition hadn't happened, we probably would've had Season 9 of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Rainbow Roadtrip, all the Equestria Girls specials from 2019, and the Friendship is Forever clip shows on Netflix by then, and they most definitely would have costed Hasbro much less money than the eOne acquisition.
Allspark Animation would still be alive, and Pony Life, A New Generation, Make Your Mark, and the first season of Tell Your Tale would have been produced by them instead of Entertainment One.
There maybe would have been more international productions for My Little Pony Generation 3 as well by now.
Peppa Pig would not be a property of Hasbro today, and therefore, wouldn't have appeared on that Hasbro Entertainment logo from Transformers One.
Nonetheless, following the acquisition, Hasbro suffered serious financial troubles, which effectively resulted in the company no longer being able to release new content for Discovery Family, and being forced to remove all of its pre-eOne properties from Netflix (except several seasons of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic).
And now, following the sale of eOne, Hasbro's current 1-year revenue is now at a record low since 2016, AND their annual long-term debt is still higher than it was since before the acquisition.
Now that I mention it, maybe Stumpos was right all along. Discovery Family wasn't the actual reason why MLP was removed from Netflix, but rather, it was Hasbro's own stupid actions.
Does anyone have any thoughts or agreements on these?
