I've seen the premiere yesterday and that was a worthy start.

I liked how the first episode gave you the impression that the Guardians of the Globe would be among the main protagonists only to have them being killed off by Omni-Man in the end.

I just finished the first 3 episodes. Yeah, that's how it happens in the comics, but I'm actually pretty surprised how soon they've adapted that. Basically, they've been playing this more straight-laced than the comics' practically a parody tone up until this twist happens. The fact that they got that out of the way means they want to take this seriously and by the end of 3 episodes, you pretty much get a show as good as Young Justice.

I saw episode 4 on Friday and man, what an episode it was.
Especially with the Alien-esque plot when one of the astronauts ultimately became a host of the Sequids and ultimately swarm against the Martians, not to mention the big shock in the end with Darkblood being banished back to Hell and Robot working on something sinister.

I never expected the show would make me care about Daimon Darkblood when he was basically a joke character in the comics o_O.

The timing of the Sequids episode (and the series in general) is pretty great considering the trailer for The Suicide Squad.

At least Damien Darkblood left behind an insurance plan just in case.

Yeah, I'm interested to see what they do with Debbie suspecting something is going on and having Darkblood's notes in her closet. She is way more active in this mystery than she was in the comics...in a good way :).

I love that about this show. They have taken a minor character from the comics and expanded him, and made me care. I hope they do this with other characters the comic eventually wastes.

I do wonder if they'll do more with Shrinking Rae besides the gender-flip or if she's fated to die like in the comics .

Just seen episode 5 today.
It's great to see Michael Dorn voicing the Battle Beast, as in the one who knocks a very angry Mark out near the end plus Mark quitting Burger Mart was one of his crowning moments of awesome in this episode.

Yep, Deborah knows that Nolan killed the Guardians of the Globe and nice to see William discover that Mark is Invincible as well as confronting D.A. for what he did to his boyfriend Rick. That punch in the jaw from Mark was a well deserved one for him.

I do think Amber will know sooner than later that Mark is Invincible, considering her relationship with him is now in jeopardy plus I'm happy that Eve went off on her solo journey, considering that her father is just anti-superhero. Great to see Mark Hamill in this and like his character Skips im Regular Show, his character in this is a good guy.

Not a lot of discussion for what's possibly the best superhero thing on right now.

I don't at all recall the comics taking this cyborg frankenstein subplot this seriously. Had shivers and got squeamish with all that body horror.

I watched the latest episode, and while I intend on picking up the comic at some point, I'm glad I went all blind for this.

I loved all the callbacks during Omni-Man's final showdown, from the Reanimen to "Mary". Also, I'm glad Amber actually knew the entire time about Mark. I still question her logic for treating him like that, but at least she's more observant.

Robot is giving me more and more villain vibes. I wonder if he'll cross a serious line sooner or later.

I've seen episode 7 today and man, that final fight.
Yep, I knew Amber would finally realise that Mark is Invincible, not to mention that Robot went from Zachary Quinto to Ross Marquand as a result of copying his mind to his new body, a younger clone of Rex along with that he passes away in his original body as well as Nolan going beast mode in most of his screen time as Omni-Man, especially taking down Cecil's forces and ultimately a newly-revived Immortal.

Amber already knew Eve was a hero. So that reveal is part of friendship and Mark knows Amber can keep a secret. Amber knew Mark and Eve were all of a sudden close. Makes sense that she would figure it out and be pissed he didn’t tell her.

It was a good twist on the secret identity trope.

Even if you read the comic, you won't get the same thrill of watching this. The amount of recontextualization and switching around the order of things yet making it logically/thematically work is so insanely beautiful. It is rather rare for an adaptation to be better than its source because the inverse is the case of needing to simplify & dumb down years of material, but Amazon is basically 2:2 on making that the case. Haven't read The Tick, so I couldn't tell you if it's been a clean sweep.

I haven’t read the comic. From the bonus material, it seems like they’re treating the show like a director’s cut. It a chance to try to do things differently maybe a way to fix some thing they wish they had done different in the comic.

Well, Invincible vs. Omni-Man went about as well as could be expected. Mark's been getting beat up all season and his final beatdown comes courtesy of his dad .

I mean, not even just a physical gut-punch, but an emotional where he finds out everything his father told him has been a lie and he's part of an empire of superpowered alien conquerors who believe in survival of the fittest and have been seeding themselves into worlds to conquer and that was why Nolan has done all of this o_O.

But, despite all of that, Mark still resolves to fight his dad and protect the Earth and the life he knows. Even after saying he didn't want to be a hero anymore, he still stands up to his dad and tries to save as many people as he can, futile and horrific as Nolan makes it with all those horrific civilian causalities :ack:.

Nolan comes off pretty monstrous and horrifying, but you see part of that is a mask when he restrains himself while punching Mark and flashes back to a time of genuine family happiness with the Graysons. I mean, he still says and does terrible things to Mark, Debbie, and the world, but he couldn't kill his son. I wonder what's next for Nolan :(.

Well, the Global Guardians couldn't fight Omni-Man, but at least they can pick up the pieces and help civilians. And they've finally come into their own as a team and have moved on from the death of the old Guardians :).

The Mauler Twins did all that work and they still end up going back to prison...sometimes it just doesn't pay to be a Supervillain .

It was nice of Cecil to go so far to make sure Mark and Debbie were comfortable and cared for after everything. As cynical and curmudgeonly as he comes off, he seems to genuinely care :).

I love how William blabs about Mark being Invincible to someone who already knew and feels safe after he screwed up...and then Eve says she's Atom Eve and neither William or Amber get it. Secret identities, folks :p.

Oh hey, looks like Immortal's alive...again .

Well, good news, Amber is willing to be with Mark again. I guess seeing him get the tar beat out of him by his dad and learning how much his dad manipulated him was enough for Amber to think Mark deserves a third chance. Mark needs at least one thing going for him right now...

Welp, a lot of season 2 bait, but Mark has found the will to be a hero again and keep going after learning of the greater war with Viltrum from Alan, and he seems ready to face it and the end of high school. Here's hoping things pick up for Mark in season 2 .

Just seen the season finale and here's my thoughts.
That was quite emotional, especially with Nolan finally explaining why he killed the Guardians as well as his origins to Mark, not to mention the moment that we finally waited for as in the Invincible vs. Omni-Man fight along with poor Mark being beaten to a pulp as a result of this.

On a positive note, Mark and Amber have reconciled with the latter now more accepting of the former being a superhero, along with Eve telling William that she is a superhero like Mark along with setting up upcoming episodes in the last two minutes.
A great season finale and can't wait to see season two.

If people thought that he was going stay dead, they should think again since he had a major role in the comics after being brought back to life.

The season finale was brutal. I feel so sorry for Mark.
Always knew Omni-Man’s alien race were conquerers, that was kind of obvious. The fact that they live for thousands of years was not. And the fact that Mark will have to, has got to be rough. I wouldn’t be surprised if he grows detached from humanity over his lifetime.
Still, can’t wait for the second season!

Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
