Is Nickelodeon Overhated?

To me, Nicktoons channel is now overhated since T.U.F.F. Puppy is replaced by Rocket Monkeys!

Nicktoons isn't over-hated at all. People barely talk about that network since it's just Nickelodeon's recycle bin. Over-hated doesn't exactly translate to "I'm mad at x digital tier bonus channel which only a fraction of homes receive because they replaced my favorite canceled show with another canceled show'".

That's because Nick is done with T.U.F.F. Puppy. It didn't get the ratings they wanted so they pulled the plug on it and washed their colelctive hands of the whole affair, hence why it got shuffled over to Nicktoons in the first place.

Is Nick over hated? Probably, but I don't really care. The network just doesn't have much for me, nothing clicks. Honestly, the only time I watch the channel is on Saturdays and Sundays for TMNT and Power Rangers. And whatever days LoK will play, but that's all.

THIS sums up my opinion on the current state of things quite well. However, I think the biggest issue is their overplayed fare overtaking the schedule, further still.

I will go even further, and seeing how people keep complaining that Sanjay & Craig and Bread Winners are rip-offs of Regular Show, I'll say that I'm enjoying those shows much more than the recent RS episodes

They aren't as good as Regular Show was at it's peak (which to me was season 1), but right now I find them to be just better

I have found someone who quite nicely sums up the flawed logic of Nickelodeon haters.

Many people from my generation, including me, grew up on shows like Nickelodeon’s Ren and Stimpy and Rocko’s Modern Life. Years after, we enjoyed Cartoon Network’s Billy and Mandy, Chowder, and Flapjack.Y’know what they all had in common? A constant reliance on gross-out humor and shock value. And y’know what? We loved them for it.
So why are most of those very people hating today’s shows like Sanjay and Craig, Breadwinners, and Uncle Grandpa for having gross-out/shock humor,when it’s the exact same type of humor we grew up with?
Cartoons didn’t get worse. You people just got older.

Welll, I do like Uncle Grandpa, but I can't say the same for the other two all that much. All I know is that it is all about the writing and wit going into it. A lot of people feel that's what lacking, hence those examples' negative reception.

I used to watch Nick in the 90s up until A:TLA, Danny Phantom, Zoey 101,Ned's School Survival Guide, Drake n' Josh, Kappa Mikey, Shuriken School(Nicktoons Network). When those shows ended, and the next generation of shows cropped up, I was done. Those series had "heart". No heart when you're attempting witty one-liners every minute

It wasn't that I grew up, but the fact that the network stopped airing shows that appealed to me(yes I still enjoy types of shows I enjoyed at 15), I'm 23 now.

If you hadn't noticed, there are not drama's on nick. Only comedies. I liked the balance between Zoey and D&J. So Nick stops airing shows I like? I stop watching Nick. Case closed. No crying.

Same goes for disney. Enjoyed american dragon, kim possible, proud family, Lizzie McGuire, Even Stevens(clearly 2000s series), but they scratched an itch these current cookie cutter comedies didn't. Good Luck Charlie brought back some of that family aspect, where parents weren't buffoons, and I gravitated to that show. Times change, and the channel changed.

Edit: Another aspect lies in those DCtvmovies. In the 90s-early 2000s, the movies had "heart". A lot of effort put into them. Yet during the late-2000s, they became a "vehicle" for their tv series actors. High School Musical gets a pass, because they used "no-names".

Well Sanjay and Criag has heart it deep inside a crap ton of grossout humor but there are moments of silence and substance. The best way to refer to S&C is to think of a smelly hobo who is actually really eloquint and deep, there are some people who are gonna be put off that he smells and some people think that the deepness is worth it

As long as Nick gives TMNT a long and healthy run (I'm hoping for at least 7 seasons before it ends), I don't care what else they do.

The number of kids' shows that actually make it to 7 seasons are few and far between. TMNT making it to 52 episodes (which is the new magic number for TV shows to go into syndication) is more likely to happen.

Then again this is TMNT we are talking about the thing already has a succesfull toyline so I do see this show lasting for 5-7 seasons
