Is Nickelodeon Overhated?

I think Nick deserves the hate it gets for their lacking quality - but these people are taking this a bit too far, from what I'm observing.

Acting as if you're opinion is right, or at least going in trying to attack people for what they say because you disagree with them, isn't really any better in my opinion. That's not going to make the haters any better. That's just going to make them strike back. I can understand the frustration in dealing with people with that kind of attitude, but ignoring them would be the best option at this point.

Eh here is what I think of the "Big 3" kids networks:

Nickelodeon: Nick isn't really too bad, but the problem is that they let certain shows overstay their welcome (SpongeBob, FOP, and Rugrats but that already ended). The only current shows on Nick I like aside from SB and FOP are Sanjay and Craig, Kung Fu Panda (Nicktoons needs to stop rerunning the hell out of this though, same with Avatar), Korra (Book 2 is making me lose interest though), and TMNT. Breadwinners isn't that bad, but it's typical for a dudebro show and not something I would go out of my way to watch, Rabbids, eh, not my cup of tea. Live action sitcoms don't really interest me these days.

Cartoon Network: Probably the best out of the 3, but the problem is that they are aiming for boys only. CN should cater both girls and boys, and the boys only thing is redundant at this point with shows like Adventure Time and Steven Universe. And I don't understand the "girls don't buy toys" thing, of course they do, if not, then what is with all the Barbies and stuff. If they don't want to sell girl toys, sell them other things like clothing (which they already do) and all that stuff. And it doesn't help that they treat action shows and acquisitions that are not Johnny Test poorly.

Disney Channel: Even with gems which are Gravity Falls, Wander Over Yonder, and the new Mickey shorts (the former two are now shipped to Disney XD), everything else sucks. I don't even need to explain, I don't watch DC unless if a movie interests me.

I've said this before, CN is not as important to Turner as Adult Swim, which is one of their top-rated networks. IMO, all of CN's "boys only" vision is to eventually get these boys into AS as they get older. Simple as that. Does CN have great cartoons, yes, but they appeal to one specific audience - boys. And are written well enough and have enough mature humor that it also appeals to adults who watch AS. One-dimensional, but smart IMO since AS is the money maker.

Disney wants girls only and they are suffering for overdone and unoriginal new shows, moving all their animation off to Disney XD and treating them like garbage (when GF, PaF, WoY) were the best things on Disney, and also milking movies to the ground to the point that they are non-ratings getters anymore.

Nick, IMO, has been the most aggressive in rebranding and engaging kids with new and original programs/bumpers/advertising. And they are the most diverse, appealing to preschool, boys, girls, etc. Still some SBSP problems, but overall, the one network that has really moved forward.

It's not my impression that Nickelodeon gets a lot of hate. To me, Nickelodeon is much the same as it's always been. Still riding Spongebob and Fairly Odd Parents until the day those horses won't get up from the ground now matter how much they're kicked (and that day has not come yet). Still making a decent action effort, now with Korra and TMNT instead of Avatar and Danny Phantom, and again bizarrely refraining from giving Korra any actual air time on the main Nick channel just like they did with Avatar. But the only time I tune in to Nickelodeon is when new episodes of Korra are on, so what do I know?

They also don't seem to treat animated shows seriously anymore, which is a great shame, but they do try to make an effort. They turned down Adventure Time after the pilot, what were they thinking?. I'm not blinded by nostalgia because I like CN's current lineup, and I like Gravity Falls and Wander Over Yonder on Disney XD.

The viewing ratings for the UK version is lower than most kids channels, I'm aged outside their demographic anyway, so why should they care?

Not only is it an insanely immature thing to due, but Casey can legally sue him because of encouraging harassment. And I hope he does put that jerk in his place.

According to nickandmore press release about Instant Mom mother's day special episode:
"Nick at Nite is Nickelodeon’s nighttime programming block that features popular hit family comedies including the Emmy Award-winning series Friends, My Wife & Kids, George Lopez, The Nanny, Yes, Dear, See Dad Run and most recently, Instant Mom."

There seems to be mistake in quote: My Wife and Kids and The Nanny are no longer on Nick at Nite schedule anymore, which questions why did these mention if they are not in Nick at Nite? That 70s Show, Full House, and Hangin with Mr. Cooper in addition are already on Nick at Nite and yet they haven't used press release about it when making references about Nick at Nite.

Jinbo71, if something is bothering you, it's best to step away from it and focus on something else. Enjoy what you enjoy and don't let outside influence dictate your thoughts. You've been told this numerous times now; please stop cluttering up the threads because after a certain point, it's getting off-topic.

Now, I know this might sound a little harsh, but I have to say this: does people criticizing what you like really that big a deal? I understand that people hating on what you like can be hard, but believing everyone who hates Nickelodeon is just a nostalgia-blinded fool is false and harsh. Now, are some of them nostalgia-blind? Probably. Could they force their opinions too hard? Maybe. But that doesn't equate to everyone. And hating on everyone who despises Nick is not a good thing to do; people won't be interested in what you have to say, and will think that you're a loon. And as Neo said, I think you should really ignore the haters and enjoy whatever you enjoy. I like Spongebob, the show people call "the cancer of animation", and I don't let the outside hurt me. Just some friendly advice.

Look, while I can agree Mr. Enter is harsh and biased when it comes to Nick (Nick is not a main cartoon channel, are you serious?), but don't let him or others stop you from liking what you like. I like Sanjay and Craig, most post-movie SpongeBob, Uncle Grandpa, and some other hated shows and I don't let them stop me. And I don't really like ridiculously over acclaimed shows like MLP either, but do I care what others think, no. If you like Nickelodeon shows like Breadwinners, then that's fine with me.

Beyond Nickelodeon itself, I have always felt that post-movie SpongeBob is overhated. Same with the later seasons of Rugrats (since Dil was added). I enjoy later seasons of both shows.

And by "critique" you mean unfairly and hypocritically attack shows all the while sending insults to the people who made them? People who probably have friends and loved ones and some jerk on the internet calls you worthless simply for making a show for a demographic he isn't a part of? Yeah, I was wrong, he is such a saint!

EDIT: Oh, and I almost forgot, he called Nickelodeon "one of the worst companies in existence".
