In JLA: Obsidian Age, Batman and the rest of the JLA will be doing some time traveling. Yet, I assume Batman will still be around for his monthlies. Is their any explanation for this, or just that comics are comics?

Correct me if im wrong but I believe JLA is in its own continuity, and completly seperate from the normal DC universe.

I don't think so, becaues in Golden Perfect part #1, MM talks about Batman being on trial, and there are probably other examples.

And I believe JLA did deal with OWAW.

JLA is DEFINITELY part of normal continuity. They did participate in OWAW, and were unfortunately victim to LAST LAUGH. Other worthy mentions:

1) Superman's costume change when he went electric.

2) Wonder Woman dying and replaced by Hypolytha.

3) The two billion times Batman's changed his costume.

4) Wally West's disappearance and the emergence of the Dark Flash.

As for the other stuff.....just the way it happens. The "Obsidian Age" story will probably only take a week at most, DCU time (which happens a lot, example being the 6-part "Rock of Ages" story that took place over three days), so Batman would have time to get back if he does indeed travel through time.

But the general idea of JLA is to reflect current events in the individual members' comics, but not be chained down by them.

Sugar Daddy, the quick explanation is that the stories in Batman just happened before or after the events in "Obsidian Age." That's all. :)

A stupid thread????? Why - it was a vaild question.

A stupid post :( :D

Batman changing his costume 2 billion times????? A few slight variations over the years, yeah - but come on - I'd be annoyed if he started looking like Batman Beyond or something along those lines but the slight changes haven't bothered me. I have to admit that I'm glad they went back to the Black Bat/original costume after NML, it's by far the best - love the new belt - much more realistic!!!

At least Bats never turned into some silly blue (and red) energy thing!!!

I just ment it was silly to ask why two differant comic book series with the same character in them occur at the same time.

Gotcha ;) It's the wacky world of the DCU - so many times they mess up continuity within on-going titles its hard to tell at times what is and what isn't, especially with all that is going on in the Bat-Titles presently!!!

I don't see what's so silly about it...there are people who are interested in continuity...sure, there is a logical explaination, the answer is, the "comic book timezone" is not the same, no matter when a comic is published.

This is such a stupid thread.
That offends me. I don't think I asked a stupid question. I was curious about something. So I asked.

How is that silly? Because you knew the answer and I didn't?

Re: Re: Re: JLA/Batman Inconsistency

I just think it's obvious that even though they are released at the same time they are not actually occuring at the same time. :)

That was a rude and inconsiderate comment and I believe you owe Sugar Daddy an apology.

Dudes....give it a rest (yeah, you knew I'd be the one to come in and say that). He thinks it's a stupid thread, well, that makes him just as stupid for clicking on it, not to mention replying to it, just to say that.

Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
