Is it just me or the animation on this episode was MILES better than the previous ones???

Storytelling is still meh, but overall an alright episode and found it better than the last ones. Expected it to be a lot worse. Had some funny moments, which were not forced.

It makes me mad to see that they can make the show a lot better but they are not trying hard enough.

Nothing really stood out to me here at all. No Longshot or Spiral cameos? I am disappointed.

So, let's see... Hulk acts unreasonable and is technically responsible for the accident with Hawkeye but overall the episode is just a complete festival of humiliating and degrading and emasculating Clint.

As if we need any more of that. I mean it happens in 616 pretty much like clockwork and it happens in about 95% of the fanfic involving Clint (trust me, you do NOT want to know)... and NOW its happening in AA.

Why on earth can't Clint be goofy and fun WITHOUT that being used to make him incompetent?!?

I thought that loser!Clint was abandoned after that terrible series premiere, but no. NOOOOO. Apparently we're only allowed to mock/abuse/bully Clint or Tony for some reason....

I need a freakin' drink.

Pretty good episode, but still nothing remarkable. This was basically the standard "heroes forced to fight in gladiatorial games" plot that's been used in lots of cartoons over the years. Some of the fight scenes were kind of nice but other than that, I thought the humor and character interactions between Hulk and Hawkeye remain the same as within previous episodes - pretty bad.

The "friendship" between Hulk and Clint seemed to slightly improve as the episode progressed but they had to end the story with another joke, pretty much confirming this episode won't change anything in the long run. I thought it was sort of funny how Mojo actually called them out on how often they fight, and for the most trivial of reasons.

There were a couple of small details I did like here, such as the cameos (the Watchers, Skrulls, Kree and probably others I couldn't really identify), or how Mojo appeared in his human design from the Ultimate Marvel Universe when broadcasting on those screens. Nothing too important, but probably the most memorable aspects of this episode for me.

Also, not even one X-Man appeared here. When I heard Mojo would appear on the show I presumed this would be the well-established reason for an X-Men guest appearance (most likely, Wolverine only). But not having any mutants show up wasn't the main reason I was disappointed with this episode.

.
They actually used the Ultimate Mojo design? Ugh......one of the more reasons i hate the Ultimate comics......

A good episode with some great fights and good cameos. I enjoyed the references to World War Hulk.

For appearances, they did fight a Brood alien during the episode. Also appearances by the Kree, the Skrulls, in a bar Impossible Man was watching the fights and so was Star-Lord from how it appeared. I like how they incorporated Ultimate Mojo's design. He used it as his fake hologram appearance to the public so they wouldn't see his true image, thought that was interesting and made Mojo come off even more lugubrious and disgusting.

My favorite moment was Mojo justifying his actions by pointing out that the Avengers fight all the time over pointless things, "And I'm the bad guy?!" And it does give Hawkeye pause for a moment. I see most of the bickering on the show as good natured ribbing and nothing really malicious. However, I think though that Hawkeye knows he went too far by messing with Hulk's crystal unicorn over a pickle, hence why Hawkeye stopped making fun of Hulk's hobby by no longer calling them dolls at the end which bothered Hulk.

You've said stuff like this before about Iron Man, and I don't get it. The shows not very good but I don't see anyone getting emasculated and I don't think they an agenda to hurt Hawkeyes character.

Did you read what it just said?

On RoyalRubble Comment? He mentions on using the human version of Mojo till Vile mentions it was a hologram, i didn't saw the episode so i didn't know.....which is true if YOU read on what i said.

Its all about context and relative competency and narrative sympathy.

Whether or not there is a conscious agenda isn't really relevant. I just get annoyed when the characters I like/identify with get ridiculed/made sucky in order to show off how certain other characters are SO MUCH MORE AWESOME.

I know what you mean, that happens in the Agents of SMASH show a lot.

Much like "Mojovision" from the 90s X-Men show, I found the brief cameos more interesting than most of the episode. I never really cared for Mojo (and this episode here certainly didn't help either); I guess the only time I kind of liked him was on Wolverine and the X-Men.

I was thinking about doing a retrospective on him, but it would be a waste of time, and I doubt anyone would actually care to read it. :p

The Brood was that bug-like alien, right? Pretty neat. I missed the Impossible Man cameo, thanks for pointing that out. Yeah, that does look like the back of Star-Lord's head.

Sorry if I wasn't clear enough in my post; Mojo was in his classic design throughout the episode, but used a hologram device or something to look like his Ultimate self when talking to the audience in the arena.

...or at least a female Rigilian.

What a waste of time this episode was. Even the moral of the story was lost at the end, showing how childish the writing really is.

No need to apologize Royal, i just read on what you said on Mojo showing his Ultimate look without knowing it was a hologram to hide his true appearance.

No surprise, Man of Action aside of not knowing how to mix action and comedy they don't do well when it comes to Morals of a story(already saw that with Ben 10, Ultimate Spider-Man and Generator Rex)

Have you seen the logline for the March 30[SUP]th[/SUP] episode?
The Avengers and the Cabal have a huge confrontation that leaves the team forever changed. Tony also learns that "the stats" can't be trusted every time – there's no substitute for human intuition.

They’re now starting to include the “Moral of the Episode” right in the episode description. Was this even necessary?
Anyway, I’d comment on the Mojo episode itself, but really, I don’t even have the energy for that.

I'm betting the Avengers will disband.....again.....how original.

While I can enjoy heroes fighting in an arena from time to time (such as Planet Hulk), I feel like the character of Mojo should go beyond just that. He was a ratings-obsessed reality TV peddler long before those things were popular. It'd be cool if they played that up a little more (although having confessionals would probably step on the toes of Agents of SMASH).

Arguing over food again? Ugh. At least they used Hulk's figurines too. Hulk Fonzie-ing his TV on and off was weird.

Only if you include his appearance in the X-Men Sega Genesis game, which was my favorite version of the character. "BLA-HA-HA-HA!"

Maybe we'll get lucky and when they re-assemble they bring in other heroes from their time apart? Please, just let me have the dream of Spider-woman being on the team. Or really any other woman character besides Widow for that matter.

Yeah you'd think he'd escalate his attempts for ratings, even change up the arena at the very least. Eh, I liked him better on Wolverine & The -Men.

It's official: I have now preordered GTA VI for PlayStation 5; the more expensive and feature-complete Ultimate Edition of the game, that is. I also intend to buy a PS5 Slim optical drive next month(?) in the hopes of maybe indirectly convincing SIE to reverse its controversial plans to go all-digital on all post–Jan 2028 PS console games, even though GTA VI is a digital-only game.
