"After Big Mouth, Mating Season Will Begin"

"Big Mouth, Netflix’s longest-running adult animated show, will be wrapping up with its eighth season later this month…but no one’s getting fired. Nick Kroll and his friends at Brutus Pink have been working on a new project this whole time, which has only just now been revealed. After school lets out, they’ll be heading to the woods…for Mating Season.

This new series is basically what would happen if the cast of Big Mouth grew up, turned into anthropomorphic animals and took up residence in the forest (that’s not what’s actually happening though). The upcoming show is set in the animal world, starring a cast of bears, raccoons, deer, foxes and others. Netflix says the series will be about “[navigating] love, sexual relationships and the universal need to hook up and find a partner.”

Big Mouth broke new ground in the world of adult animation with heart, humor and total chaos — they took the awkwardness of adolescence and turned it into something universal and deeply human,” said John Derderian, Vice President, Animation Series, Netflix. “Working with Nick Kroll and the brilliant minds at Brutus Pink over the course of eight seasons has been legendary. Now, with Mating Season, they’ll bring that same bold and hilarious creativity into the animal kingdom. We’re beyond excited to unleash this next chapter together.”"

The designs don't look as bad as Big Mouth, so I'll give them that. (Let's hope they never use giant lips again.)
It really comes down to the writing.

Honestly that initial promo art was so ugly I didn't think even furries would be into this, but that teaser...yep, this'll find an audience.

I loved getting to see Murry and Rick again. Tho I was expecting to see more substance from the clip. But, still pretty hype for it.

"The Animals Of Netflix’s ‘Mating Season’ Are Only After One Thing"

"Nick Kroll got eight entire seasons out of the anxieties of children hitting puberty with Big Mouth. Will his next creation, Mating Season, experience that kind of longevity? After seeing the first trailer, we’re kinda skeptical.

For as raunchy as it was, the characters in Big Mouth were at least relatable, whereas if you find yourself relating to any of the characters in Mating Season, you aren’t healthy and you shouldn’t be on the streets. The show takes place in a forest where the title phenomenon is in full swing and everyone is hungry to hump, to the point where it’s all they ever talk about. We’ve been fearful this is the only joke the show will tell, and we still have that concern.

As with Big Mouth, Kroll voices one of the main characters, a raccoon named Ray. Other cast members include Zach Woods (In the Know) as a love-starved bear named Josh, June Diane Raphael (Grace and Frankie) as a doe named Fawn, and Sabrina Jalees (Carol’s Second Act) as a fox named Penelope."

Going offline until further notice. David Ellison has won. I’m seeking therapy permanently rather than quitting life. Take care everyone. Once I leave the world into the void, I hope my life is better.
Is that Joan Cusack voicing Jessie in that Toy Story Papa John's commercial? If so, it sounds rough. Woundn't surprise me if it wasn't, though.
