They do air the cartoons. But if you want to dvr them, you have to record a 3.5 hour “Arizona & Me” which also includes the hour of Beverly Hillbillies before the cartoons. Maybe it’s a way to make cartoon fans watch public affairs shows, lol. Yeah, using an old school recording method like a VCR could get around this.

Lots of interesting information being posted here. So they don’t air public affairs shows on MeTV toons even though some stations use it as a channel instead of a sub channel? But MeTV toons does abide by the E/I requirements for a regular channel? How do they get away with one and not the other?

Only the main Channel has to air the Public Affairs and PSAs and only on Full-Power and Class-A TV Stations. The stations have to file a report with the FCC each quarter as "Issues and Programs List" with a list of Public Affairs programs and PSAs they aired in the quarter. Here is the link to KMOH's filing of these from this year. There is 44 pages in the Q3 filing with everything after page 2 being a list of PSAs and what time.

Just checked the WMJF schedule. It's all the same as the national feed. Strange, considering it's DT1. Is it because they are a CD station?

CD are Class-A Stations which follow the same requirements as Full-Power Stations. Here's what the filings for WMJF-CD shows in the FCC Public Profile.

Strange, the EPG on TV Passport doesn't show anything, it just lists the Casper and Company 10am slot instead.

But then again the official document refers to October's editions as from September. Maybe I'm mixing up with September's Saturdays and pre-empting 10am Underdog.

There are few scenarios.

1) The source that you watch MeTV Toons is likely not come from WMJF station and they may change from station to station. Weigel tend to put location on MeTV bug - on bottom like MeTV Birmingham. You may notice on ads break.

2) If your source is indeed come from WMJF (has to confirm via ads break), it is not guaranteed to see TV Guide, Zap2It, TV Passport and EPG to include the substituted programming, so that happen with some stations.

I don't think that federal law require substituted programming to be registered on guide, so you don't know until one come on your TV.

EPG are not always right. The EPG for MeTV Toons on KEJR-LD 40.2 here in Phoenix has never been right. KEJR broadcast the Eastern Feed for some reason. The EPG from the station and on TitanTV is showing the schedule for the Eastern Feed in Mountain Time, but we are in the Mountain Standard Time Zone which is the same as Pacific Time at this time of year, not Mountain Time, so the schedule is 1 hour off. To make things worse, MeTV Toons website and Zap2it show the schedule with the Western Feed and Pacific Time which is 3 hours off.

I did notice there are a few typos in KMJF-CD's report in that it says 2023 instead 2024 on top and it list October dates instead of September dates. Now if they are reporting they are airing these programs, but are actually not, viewers or more likely community groups could complain to the FCC and if found to be true, the station could be fined or have their license cancelled for not meeting FCC requirements and lying about it.

Apparently, it's hard to recreate the original show lineup due to the fact that some footage is owned by different companies. For whatever reason, these companies don't work together and therefore, they have to work with what they have (it's the same reason why the Rocky and Bullwinkle DVD's were mainly sourced from a 1997 foreign syndication package). Not helped by the fact that not much documentation survives of which segments were shown originally in what order.*

*From what I've heard, NBC's original 1964 - 1966 of Underdog contained 2 Underdog cartoons bookending the show with a Go Go Gophers cartoon (or a Jay Ward Aesop and Son cartoon as it would occasionally alternate) and a Hunter cartoon (consisting of reruns from it's episodes from King Leonardo and Tennessee Tuxedo) in between. When CBS picked up Underdog in 1966, Go Go Gophers and The Hunter moved to The Space Kidettes and the show now consisted of only Underdog.

Two things
1. the Underdog masters are straight up gone. In addition, Classic Media/NBCU are missing some of the segments made for King Leonardo meaning reassembling the original versions of TTV shows is impossible.
2. Underdog actually had two formats on CBS from what I can tell. The first had Underdog, Klondike Kat, and I think The Hunter (this was the one with new episodes). Only once the show ended did it go into the all Underdog version

Make sense now and I'm in central time zone, we got east feed. Hearst put public affair show named Matter of Fact on MeTV that is on 13.2 that is not mandated by FCC regulation, so it looks like Hearst did at their pleasant, so unfortunately, we will miss two episodes of The Brady Bunch.

I could watch MeTV on Frndly as alternative but sadly, many The Brady Bunch episodes are missing because of not streamable and Paramount is too cheap to renew the music rights.

When I was in Las Vegas, whoa, east feed was like 2 hours off because Frndly only carry all east feed, so Toon In with Me start at 4 am and Saturday morning cartoon start at 4 am. Supermarionation block on MeTV Toons would start at 12 am. Imagine if I fly to Hawaii, Toon In with Me start at 1 am, sounds like fun, lol.

I don't believe the first one ever happened. The Hunter never got new episodes after Tennesse Tuxedo and His Tales and was already airing on NBC's Space Kidettes show at the time. Not to mention that I've never seen any proof that Klondike Kat ever aired on Underdog's original CBS run (he definitely appeared on its syndicated run though), though I have seen an internal memo at Total Television say that Klondike Kat DID appear on Tennessee Tuxedo (even though I've never seen any proof in old newspaper listings of Tennessee Tuxedo and network film prints).

Granted, this is only based off what I've found. Just because I couldn't find any information on Klondike Kat originally airing on Underdog doesn't necessarily mean that it didn't air on that show at one point. I think I've also heard claims that Commander McBragg debuted either Tennessee Tuxedo or Underdog's original runs, but the available network film prints I know of for both don't contain any Commander McBragg's (granted, there's only one Underdog network film print I am aware of).

At the end of the day, I don't really care if the Total Television (or Jay Ward) shows are presented in their original order (considering how their original order featured a lot of previous segments being rebroadcast alongside the new stuff) as long as all of the individual cartoons are available without any edits and their original titles.

I was surprised to see it mentioned in the promo. They do have contacts with Wildbrain, so I think it will be a matter of time before its videogame cartoons make it to the network next year.

Only in August they negotiated with Wildbrain to air the Inspector Gadget Christmas special for the upcoming season

Toon Disney aired DiC shows when they launched in 1998 and most of them left in 2002.

I really hope so. I would love seeing one of the DiC Mario and Sonic shows on the channel

DiC stuff is owned by Wild Brain, who doesn't seem to mind to selling rights. Pluto TV, Roku Channel Channel, and Tubi benefit heavily. That's why Inspector Gadget has a channel on Pluto TV now.
