Most hated commercial?

The new commercial claiming that "common" in the movie and recording industry are losing jobs because of people downloading movies, music, etc. They say stop piracy.

Newsflash 1 - Piracy is when someone makes money from bootleg material. Most people who download aren't interested in making money, just not wasting it for crap-filled entertainment.

Newsflash 2 - Those "common" people aren't making any money. Working at a theater is minimum wage. All of those other gigs pay decent amounts, but not enough to live off for an extended period of time. The people who wants this stopped are movie stars who won't take a 1 million dollars pay cut from 15 mil to 14 mil, or the recording industry mongers who make all the money from record sales, then keep the money away from the artists.

The first time I saw this "plea," I think I flipped off my TV.

LOL That commerical sounds so stupid!

Also, I hate the Charmin/Bear ads, as well as those annoying Disney Channel ads for Kim Possible which don't tell you a god-forsaken thing about the episode.

I can't believe no one has said this commercial yet: The one with the 2 guys sitting outside a Dairy Queen holding a Blizzard upside down making stupid noises. I mean what is that supposed to prove...that Dairy Queen's shakes are so thick you can't eat them?!?!

Dairy Queen has always advertised the Blizzard frozen treat as "Upside-downright thick." I found this commercial hilarious, as it features two idiots testing this theory, after which, you hear an announcer say, "Yeah, they're thick," referring to both the Blizzard and the men. Very funny, in my opinion.

Ugh,their songs are so stupid like "Sk8ter Boi". What is up with the "Net" spelling? Are they trying to sound cool?

I don't know. According to ASCAP, you have David Alpasch, Graham Edwards, Lauren Fownes, and Avril Lavigne to blame.

czyznyck99, I believe you're misinterpreting the anti-piracy ads. The people speaking are people who work behind the scenes on a film, not theater employees.

I never understood those Apple Jacks ads, either. "Why do you kids eat Apple Jacks if they don't taste like apples?" Anyone with eyes can read that they are meant to be an apple-cinnamon flavor. They started out with kids making parents look like buffoons (an idea as old as time), then eventually went into anti-establishment fun (we don't want them to taste like apples!), now it's turning into the Salvador Dali of cereals. I don't get it. Consider me as confused as the parents/authority figures in these ads.

Yeah, did you see those dumb commercials recently about Apple Jacks making the cereal taste like real apples & then you see the kids panic like it's the worst thing in the world?

Ugh... Don't remind me! Then they have blue carrots...

Ok I understand that a milkshake is supposed to have some thickness to it, but come on that is just ridiculous on Dairy Queen's part. I bet you have a better chance of getting ketchup out of a Heinz glass bottle than eating a Blizzard shake. I know the secret ingredient to their shakes then...quick dry cement. I don't hate Dairy Queen I just prefer their ice cream slushies over anything else.

Oh yes! How on Earth can I forget this one?!

THE NICKTOON MARTIAL ARTS PARODY

Ugh! Being both and anime fan and a martial arts nut, you can see how something like this makes me sick. To those who've never seen this.....GOOD. To those who have, you have my deepest sympathies.

It goes like this. In some random Japanese shrine/dojo, you see Tommy with some mysterious orb, floating around like one of those holy robed ancients. Four Nicktoon characters in very bad Japanese outfits accept the challenge of getting the orb first: Chuckie, Debbie, Helga, and Patrick. Every single one of them have "special moves" that they yell out before executing them, most of which involve snot, a blowdryer, a kiss of death, and a VERY fattening Krabby Patty. And in the end, Dil Pickles gets it! The moral of this pointless fight? "We're all winners, cuz we're Nicktoons!!!!"

Honest to god, that was the worst Nickelodeon commercial that surfaced ever since that "Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon" parody with two kids in robes. Absolutely senseless. Were they trying to be cool by making this thing anime-like? I'm pretty sure that there are manga nuances in that commercial as well. Regardless though, I still think that this is one of the worst promos ever. Talk about mind numbing propaganda.

What about the Skippy Squeeze commercial? That also brings another point on the Cafe Toon Zone board about obese children and commericials.

There's a really annoying one playing in the UK for Starburst ( a fruit sweet). A boy politely asks his older sister if he can watch her TV. The sister and her friend proceed to be really nasty and tell him to get lost (they act just like the kind of girls that made me glad when I finished school). The friend gives him a packet of Starbursts and then tells him to go away. The boy eats one and his sister screams a horribly acted "NOOOOOOOO!" before her head briefly turns into fruit and the brother and friend laugh at her.

That ad must only play in the UK, because I see Starburst commercials all the time in America and I've never seen it. Her head turned into fruit? Are you serious? What did it look like?

It's a CGI piece of fruit that they digitally insert over her face.

Well, they do that same sort of thing on American commercials, except its for Gushers...not Starburst....

Has anyone seen that new yogurt commercial yet? The one with annoying, fluffy, cutsey, disgusting music in it. Aaggh, it just hurts my ears everytime I hear it! I'm not sure which brand its for though.

I despise all gogurt commercials. Especially the current one with the horrible rapping in it. *shudders*

I just saw this Push Pop commercial a couple days ago where this kid's sitting in the back seat of a car sucking on a lolipop. Then this kangaroo pops up out of the seat beside the kid. That's right, he actually comes OUT of the seat. He has the WORLD'S MOST ANNOYING VOICE. He grabs the kid's lolipop and flings it into his mother's hair, who's sitting in the passenger side, then whips out a Push Pop. The kangaroo doesn't give a darn about poor Mom's hair (who's totally oblivious to the whole conversation going on 3 feet behind her) and apparently neither does the kid, seeing as he listens to the mad marsupial go on about the benefits of Push Pops.

Bottom line: if you don't use Push Pos then your lolipop will get stuck in your mother's hair and freaky kangaroos will pester you untill you take a Push Pop.

I hate those Buddy Lee Jeans commercials and those Kid Bop CD commercials.

I dunno if it's just in my area, but they usually air this commercial for Comcast Digital Cable, in which these two guys are at a party, trying to look nerdy start talking to these two girls. The girls don't really even pay any attention to them, and turn on Star Trek, so the "geeks" would just stare at that instead.

Personally, I thought that was kind of screwed up, how the girls treated the guys. I mean, jeez, they just wanted to talk, and probably dance. And the girls just shrug them off as a 1980's stereotype of a nerd or geek.

You're not alone. I saw that same Comcast commercial in Nashville.

I thought I'd seen ever Starburst ad but I still haven't seen this one. Do you have any more information on it? Any pics?

Woah... After organizing the threads by views I realized that this topic's view count is #6 out of all the topics currently on the Entertainment Board! It even beat-out the Movie Talkback Thread Collection.

some I hate...

Pad and tampon commercials where a woman tells you how good it feels and then they cut to a picture of a pad moving all CGI like.. I don't want to know how it feels like to them! that's just freaking sick!

Oh and anyone remember those old tampon commercials where there's this group of snotty preppy teens sitting high up at a table like some sort of jury telling the 'unpopular' girl to wear tampons or be uncool or something.. yecchh creepy...

WB has done so well with releasing the Paramount Popeye cartoons on home media that they should be chosen to distribute the long-delayed animated Popeye film that at various points was to be made by Sony and directed by Genndy Tartakovsky (who has a long association with WB sister property Cartoon Network).

Today marks the 25th Year Anniversary of when Pokémon Crystal was released in North America. To this day, the Johto Games remain my favorite games in the Pokémon Franchise.
Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
