Harvey Beaks: Boss Bunny

Written & Directed: Yum

Plot: Dade finally did it. Dade finally put one over Fee and Foo! After breaking a vase or some other priceless heirloom in his house, the twins beg Dade on their knees not to tell his tyrannic mother. Dade sinisterly seizes the opportunity to blackmail Foo into doing his chores for him. Unfortunately, Foo's submission goes to his head, and pretends to be the CEO of the entire household, both Foo and his numerous siblings under his control. He really gets into the act and acts all maniacal and menacing, much like Mr. Krupp from the Captain Underpants books. The kids start to become traumatized and intimidated by their brother's sudden acquisition of power, and team up with Harvey to free Foo and the household, and dethrone their ironically villainous, obnoxious brother.

This cartoon flows much like a classic Dexter's Laboratory/Donald Duck cartoon, and like said characters, goes down with a big bang, initiated by his hunger for power, and furthered by his passion to defeat his enemies once and for all. Dade, exhausted by his own behavior, calls off the rivalry between the twins once and for all, frees Foo, and takes the heat for breaking the thing. Through his exhaustion, he learns the moral that living with hatred and spite-it just makes life harder to get through. He is then tucked into bed by the twins, pleased he's beginning to soften up to them.

I came with this thing like, early in the morning. My enjoyment from just thinking about Dade's triumph over the twins was so huge, I started acting out the whole thing this morning, really getting into Dade's villainous role in this episode, just enjoying that he finally won over the twins! It was so loud, my mom yelled at me to keep it down in the other room. It was THAT severe. I had to find a place to record my thoughts because no one else is acquainted with Harvey as much as I am, and it's not entirely fleshed out, as you can plainly see.

Reminds me of the good old days when everything was the same.

I hate it when Portuguese people call Wander over Yonder (Galáxia Wander) as "Galaxy Wonder".

If Nick ever wanted a Sony animated movie adapted I always have a feeling that would be Open Season.

You know that old Butch Hartman cartoon TUFF Puppy witb Jerry Trainor? Back in high school or so, I created my own spin on the two main characters, Dudley and Kitty. Yes, I was one of those unfortunate Kudley shippers, fascinated by the idea of a dog making love to a cat. What I also noticed that in later episodes, Kitty Katswell ironically acted more like a workaholic, much like a police dog and Dudley like that of a lazy cat. I was put off by Till Doom do us Part because the characters were acting more like they did during the first run of episodes, and not as the best friends/partners they'd evolved to at this point.

So in my version, I did away with the smart cat/dumb dog stereotype, and ditched the spy theme for more of a Crash Bandicoot esque genre. Kitty Katswell in this version would have a lot more curves apposed to her angles in the original cartoon, her only dress would be a bright red Crimson Chin T-Shirt, and she'd wear pigtails and retain her front bangs. She'd also be bowlegged, like a lot of the old 1940's Warner Bros. cartoons and barefooted. Her personality would revert more to her primordial wildcat ancestorsand act a lot more crazier and wilder than she did before, in the vein of Dee Dee. Her house would be a tiny girls' shoebox, because cats love boxes. Her voice actor would be Daniella Monet(Victorious). Another aversion from the dogs hate cats trope would be her annoyingly immense affection for Dudley Puppy, as she constantly runs around, flirts, sniffs, cuddles, and even SLURPS Dudley. She'd also disguise herself in many outfits much like she did in the show. She'd be reckless, high-energy, gross and sloppy, mischevious, cute, loud, and barely civilized, but she isn't any less incompetent than she was in TUFF. In fact, this new look would provide a better cover for her than in the old show. Not to mention, she'd be even more violent than her old self!

Dudley Puppy(Jerry Trainor) would be more civilized in this version than in the older series, more by-the-book, and slightly disheveled, but with less emphasis on potty humor, as dogs are more likely to respond to human commands less than cats. He is frequently exhausted by his girlfriend's outlandish, uncivilized antics, so he's more of a straight man to her. His life before Kitty was pretty dull.

Originally, my concept was for Dudley to be the bodyguard of this wildcat preserve protecting Kitty's species, and Fairly OddParents villain Mr. Crocker was supposed to be the main villain, scheming ways to shave the cats of their voluptous, radiant fur and make a killing off their fur, taking a break from Timmy Turner. I also had Dudley and Kitty both wear Crimson Chin T-Shirts in place of the black jumpsuit and T-shirt to signify them both being a couple now. They're both Crimson Chin geeks in this version.

Timmy would also act as their guardian angel of sorts, and he'd be referred to as 'the little boy Dudley saved from the well', often poofing in with his fairies at the right moment to save their lives, or repair a rough spot in their relationship, unnoticed. Let me know if any of you are cringing or celebrating the changes I made to the concept.
