Regular Show: The Lost Tapes

I hope "Untitled Regular Show project" remains the name of it, and that it gets eventually moved to Adult Swim it seems a bit like something they'd do.

I win! The project is set to air on Adult Swim Canada.

It's pretty clear that means it will also air in the US in fall as well as I really don't see these shows having a Canadian debut and like waiting months to air after in America. That wouldn't make any sense so yeah that's cool.

I admit the bigger surprise sans the fact this is happening a bit sooner then I thought is that this Regular Show continuation is an adult swim show. Yeah Regular Show obviously had a pretty decent adult lean and honestly the idea of really growing up the series does give more reason to have a continuation it's just so weird that CN really has been plugging and giving a lot of rerun love to RS lately which made me feel they were doing that to prime kids for it's return but yeah if it airs on AS they don't want kids to be watching. So again weird especially since I thought CN and AS shows weren't really suppose to you know have any sort of connection anymore but again will make more RS better in the end honestly.

I honestly didnt know CN USA was airing RS again...

Seems like adult versions of Cartoon Network 2010s renaissance shows is a new trend. Don't know if it would really work for the third show in the Cartoon Network renaissance holy trinity, Steven Universe. This time they can drop that p-bomb uncensored and maybe make a reference to the censorship the original series had.

maybe cartoon network is better at making adult versions of Cartoon Network shows than spike revival of red & stimpy from nickelodeon

As much as I've grown to like AS, it's disappointing seeing them eat CN's timeslots and shows get eaten by Adult Swim one by one. CN has more or less become a rerun channel and it's sad for me to see. I guess Regular Show does fit Adult Swim so I can get behind Corus' logic in airing it there.

well, thanks to the fact that 6-11 kids options are *sigh*, YouTube & roblox

I hope they expand on the swearing a bit in the new series. Not them throwing f bombs every other word, but realistic swearing that makes the dialogue feel natural. That was the point of adding swearing in the OG Regular Show, but they didn’t do it too awful much, and then CN changed their minds and “ticked” it all up. A tasteful dollop of moderate profanity in the new series would be much appreciated.

I'm pretty confident Side Quests is not going to Adult Swim

But to Hulu....possibly

Though CN's kind of rushing to burn off its current slate rn, that tells me they have access to something coming in the Fall still

Yup airing every day between 11:30AM to 12:30 PM... well not today because for whatever reason Cartoon network were having a marathon of Tom and Jerry specific shows but they have been airing at that spot last couple of months. I do think that's going to change in a couple of weeks once the AT reruns cycle fully through "Come Away With Me" aka the finale they're going to take that slot and Regular Show is going to play at 4-5PM again but yeah still playing on regular CN regardless.

Again SU doesn't get the same sort of rerun love that Adventure Time or Regular Show get but I do think if there's enough interest they might get something at least for HBO Max since Rebecca Sugar did mention wanting to do more and some streaming sites might be interested in that.

Well Nickelodeon had NOTHING to do with Adult Party Cartoon while at least Cartoon Network and Adult Swim do still have some connection being on the same channel despite not wanting to now admit to one. Furthermore Adult Party Cartoon didn't work because John K was more just interested in being out there and pushing the line then making you know anything of actual quality that really connects and tells interesting stories. That is NOT the case for Fiona and Cake and I doubt the RS revival was just made for edge pushing and was made to you know CONTINUE the story properly. Especially since J.G Quintel proved with Close Enough he can make a good adult cartoon series with more mature edges that isn't just trying to be edgy and "mature" by just having TV-MA subject matter.

Man, CN can't air ANYTHING nowadays, can they?

I guess in terms of new/current series there's still Teen Titans Go!, Iyanu, and the upcoming Gumball revival. And probably other scattered projects here and there. I do wonder though since it seems CN doesn't have any interest in pre school programming and have absolved Cartoonito what happened to those very younger aimed Foster's Home and Adventure time spinoff series. Will they have to be retooled or just forgotten or what?

I was kind of expecting the new Regular Show revival to air on Adult Swim, it's the home of TV PG shows from Cartoon Network Studios now, the edgy era of Cartoon Network's normal time appealing to "tweens" is long over, also for the fact they want to capture some of the audience that watched the original series. Regular Show was always intended to be more adult anyway.

[adult swim] is now the home for TV-PG shows, not a shocker as they've now presented themselves as a family channel...

Congratulations for your prediction!

I think Warner TV should air it in markets where the brand exist, while in other places they’ll air it on Netflix and HBO Max. Latin America has an AS channel, so fine. This is what’ll happen, unless if they’ll treat the show like Adventure Time: Fiona and Cake (aired on Canadian CN, because it’s the weirdest feed owned by Corus) and My Adventures with Superman (aired before on the Asian CN feed).

For the US, they might make the show shifted from HBO Max to Hulu, like what happen to Gumball, where their upcoming episodes are decided to be aired on Hulu rather than HBO Max and linear TV.

I’d hope it goes to Hulu since that’s where the OG show is, but if they decide to have [adult swim] US air the show (which they likely will since the US and Canada feeds have a lot of synergy) then that may complicate things. Almost everything [adult swim] airs has a “Next day on HBO Max” situation.

It going to Hulu would probably be better than Max considering what happens to cartoons that aren't TV-MA DC cartoons. Even Quintel's previous adult cartoon, Close Enough, got purged. Hulu has established itself as the adult comedy cartoon streaming service with Nu-Futurama and King of the Hill. It would be treated like royalty there.

To celebrate the fact that I got three weeks off from work for rest, I watched today the latest installment in the separate Minions series of movies. What I loved was the unique logo variation of the Universal logo, which was akin to the plot taking place in the late 1800s

Nicktoons in the US has recently aired something that no one expected: an AI generated ad for an overpriced plush toy.
Not everything from DC and Marvel comics needs to be more like the adaptations.
Woah yeah today is my Birthday!
