Sinclair To Launch 'KidsClick' Multiplatform Programming Block For Children

Just checked CW15's website.

They're splitting the programs up from 5-6:30 am (ET) and 7:30-8:30, starting July 3, from the looks of things. Max Steel & Angry Birds are among the entries.

They are definitely starting of the right foot by giving as much detail out as early as they should which is good.

I for one, am wondering just how they will calculate the ratings. I dont mean how they will be converyed to us, but all this scheduling mishaps and mismatches between the variors affiliates is going to make calculating the ratings very hard... Or I am mistaken and or just speaking nonsense?

I doubt we'll get ratings reports for this. Sinclair will know, though. Neilsen offers viewership tracking on a city level, so they can account for the odd time slots.

The CW in Fresno, California put up their schedule:

They also uploaded a big piece of promo art confirming Transformers Prime:

Anyone know what the city skyline on the third from the left is from? Looks CG-ish. Maybe Pac-Man?

Was expecting a better logo for KidsClick. Is the This TV block supposed to be national?

This TV isn't a block, it a Nationally Broadcasted over-the-air channel in the United States, some Cable or Satellite providers carry the channel as well.

I meant "KidsClick block on ThisTV". I think it's carried in markets without a Sinclair station.

Yeah, but is KidsClick (not E/I) on all ThisTV markets?

That's a good idea, especially in large markets dominated by O&Os.

Sinclair Names Dan Barnathan VP Family and Children's Programming and Sales; Jonathan Dern Executive Producer
BALTIMORE, June 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Sinclair Broadcast Group, Inc. Jonathan Dern has been named Executive Producer and will oversee and manage KidsClick Programming, Promotion and Operations.

The announcements were made by Steve Marks, EVP & COO of Sinclair's television group. "We are excited about the announced executive appointments," said Mr. Marks. Along with his partner, Paul Sabella, Mr. Dern built both SD Entertainment and MGM Animation as the go-to studios for brand strategy and production in the kid's animation business.

That's interesting. So It looks like they got someone that's had a lot of experience with these broadcast blocks to run it and pick the shows and set the lineup (which might explain Sonic X returning).

Speaking of previous blocks, I feel like their strategy differs from Vortexx's strategy which was to get big shows like JLU, Spectacular Spider-man, and DBZ Kai. This block has picked up lesser known shows so far.

Edit: Here's a promo for the people who watch the block instead of the parents:

I really wonder about what kind of ratings they are expecting to consider the block a success.

Something is up with their Scary Larry masters. Both the clip featured in the above promo and the below newscast look really interlaced.

The show debuted in 2012, so it shouldn't be a poor upscale.

I haven't kept up with this news too much. I'm still amazed that they brought Sonic X back. I guess it's the most recent Sonic cartoon that they could get. They probably couldn't get Sonic Boom if they wanted it, but after so many years of reruns, it's weird that they're bringing it back.

Nothing really catches my attention here, although maybe they'll air season two of Ladybug here as well as put it on Netflix, but the promos are kind of neat at least.

Today marks the 15th Year Anniversary of ThunderCats (2011). While I find it unfortunate that the show was canceled before it had a chance to finish its story, I am glad that the show's art director was willing to give fans closure via a podcast interview.
Okay, so I found out that Sailor Moon had meet and greets at Universal Studios back in May. It would have been so cool if we had that at the turn of the century. I have gotten hugs from a Sailor Moon and a Sailor Mars at a local con back in the 2010s and spent under $100 doing it, so I don't know if this is worth the splurge but I can see that these affluent geeky people are enjoying their Sailor Moon hugs.
The characters from Netflix's Mating Season apparently were born from the same deeps as the Warner Bros cartoon characters
