I can only assume this means the planned movie was cancelled (and to cut this off at the pass, IMHO, I don't think the Ratchet and Clank movie had anything to do with it). In any case, this was kind of unexpected, well to me, anyway.

Still, I'm really interested in this show. Hopefully, it will be a good one...

Only if this worked out in 2D animated than CGI as this look like it'll fallback similar to the proposed film trailer released in 2014 by which, not lot of people were happy due to Sly voice actor being replaced by a different one and Murray's new design had it the worst as many described as ugly, its hard to believe whether it'll come out since its been in development hell for awhile, but following after the Ratchet & Clank film did, were very divisive by it being a box office bomb from at that time, although I'm willing to see if there's any ambition of this since I've been a fan of the game series.

I was looking forward to the Sly movie, but after how mediocre Ratchet and Clank was...maybe a show is for the best.

I'm a Sly Cooper fan, and personally this is something I've always wanted to see happen. But I hope Nick or CN doesn't pick this up. Because more than likely, they'll treat it like garbage. I hope either Disney XD or Netflix picks it up!

Sly Cooper getting a TV series, pretty awesome, I'll enjoy it, it was a pretty awesome video game, both Sly Cooper, Inspector Carmelita Fox, Dimitri Lousteau, The Panda King, Clockwerk, Arpeggio, and Don Octavio were my favorite awesome characters, I'll enjoy them in the animated series:D.

I'm hoping both StarFox, Rayman, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, and Ratchet & Clank will get a TV series pretty soon in the future.

A TV adaptation can work hopefully it does as good as Sonic Boom (the TV series).

No...nobody wanted this!

This isn't the 90's

Video game cartoons are dead, with the possible exception of Sonic Boom & Mega Man

Besides is Sly even still popular or relevant?

They're hoping the cartoon will spark interest in the franchise. Did kids know of Pac-Man before Ghostly Adventures aired? What about Mega Man's new series? Exactly.

I think kids actually did know Pac-Man before Ghostly Adventures.

I have never heard of Sly Cooper. (I am not a gamer. I rarely play Tetris, minesweeper or CN games, that's about it) But it definitely looks interesting! :D

We don't know who will pick it, it's safe to say that either Netflix or Hulu might be the best candidate, besides I don't think DXD is the best place to put it at as I find it almost similar to CN and Nick does to shows like these.

Maybe this can go on Netflix? I mean, they got Castlevania and Skylanders, and there are rumors of that Zelda show.

Castlevania is being made for older viewers, while the Zelda series rumor was debunked some time ago. Skylanders? That's another story.

As for Pac-Man and Mega Man, I'm pretty sure that at least some viewers knew about the original games (both of which previously had TV adaptations before the recent ones), even if others didn't. No offense, but that sounded like overgeneralizing to me.

Also, mikurotoro, maybe you don't think Sly Cooper is relevant anymore, but that doesn't mean others don't. I'm personally very interested in this new series. I just hope it does the games justice. Also, this is just a personal gripe for me, but I'm kind of hoping that Bentley...

doesn't have his accident in this show. In fact, I'm even hoping that he doesn't even have his wheel chair, period (in both cases this applies to whether it happens during the show or before the first episode). That was really my least favorite part of the second game...

It won't be a dealbreaker for me exactly, but it would kind of bring down the show (i.e., by having a bit of seriousness to it).

It had been years since the last major Pac-Man game by the time Ghostly Adventures debuted. Mega Man's gone more than seven years without any new games. By the time DHX's show is out, Star Force will have been off of Cartoon Network for over a decade. Battle Network and the Ruby Spears shows didn't exactly have a long life on cable either. Those shows were/are being made to boost brand awareness amongst kids.

I still say that's overgeneralizing. Maybe there hasn't been any new product in a while, but I don't like the implication that the "target demographic" you refer to only cares about new stuff, or is otherwise that superficial/shallow. I say again: there is no doubt that there are game players and viewers regardless of age or familiarity with those franchises who have heard of, and even played the games, with some even feeling that those are their favorite games to play, even if they are older ones. This includes Sly Cooper. Maybe this new show will succeed, maybe it won't. Maybe it will be worth watching, maybe it won't. It might actually be Sly Cooper, and reflect the games' production values or it may be another in-name-only adaptation with more of the same writing as before. Once this show premieres (whenever it may be), we'll know for certain.

(sigh) And some people on here say I'm being negative about some things...

It's a shame the movie will likely never come out at this point. It looked infinitely more interesting than the Ratchet & Clank movie. But I guess the TV show will be fine as well.

I was looking forward to the movie, though I also feel like an ongoing, episodic, cartoon series might be more fitting for Sly Cooper :).

I hope they don't diverge too much from the games, though I'm curious what kind of art style it'll have :ack:.

It would be awesome if they could get Kevin Miller to reprise Sly for this, along with Bentley and Murray's VA's like they did for the movie teaser :D.

Pac-Man had games frequently released up to the Ghostly Adventures cartoon (Pac-Man Party, Namco Museum Remix, Street Fighter x Tekken). The IP was and still is in use by Namco.

Anyway, I also feel like Sly might fare better as an episodic cartoon. It could be a western equivalent to Lupin the Third.

Except that Sly Cooper is a family franchise, while Lupin III, a seinen production was created specifically for older readers/viewers. Just saying.

I think he's saying it would be a more kid-friendly take on Lupin the 3rd

Here's a fun article I wrote on why Ruby and Jade from Sofia The First are good characters.
Okay hear me out, Isn't it kind of crazy how CN never thought about doing a Kids Next Door x Teen Titans OG crossover back in the 2000s? There's five members of Sector V, five titans, and they both have super cool HQs. I'm telling you guys, a TT and KND crossover would've been so epic!
Watched the live-action "Moana" today and felt nothing that special compared to the original 2016 film. In fact, I don't remember much from the first animated film, but I think they barely changed anything in the 2026 version
